The sword and the faith

I recently reinstalled XP on this computer (Wiped Vista and kissed it good bye.) and as usual got all my SC programs back and all, but SCMD is having a bit of trouble.
Error message: The procedure entry point RichEdit10ANSIWndProc could not be located in the dynamic link library RICHED20.dll
Errors caused: Classic Triggedit doesnt work right. This is a big problem for me.

I tired: Downloading a new RICHED20.dll off the net an placing it in the system/system32/smcdraft folders, rebooted, but still, no dice.
Im wondering: If this because my XP is SP3 as apposed to running SP2 before when there was no error.
Asking: If anyone has a solution or would like to give me their RICHED20.dll to see if it'll help.

That returned this error:
riched20.dll was loaded but the dllregisterserver entry point was not found. This file can not be registered.

Try to dl a new riched20.dll, place it in c:\windows\system32 then doing:

Quote
regsvr32 -u riched20.dll
click OK, then type in
regsvr32 riched20.dll

EDIT: Well instead of dling it you could try removing it then repairing the office install...

I don't know what causes this but maybe my (working) versions of riched20.dll help you:
Windows\system32
Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE11

Update: Still not working. Im thinking this isnt about file versions. Anyone have an idea of what the root problem might be?

You could have a virus or worm you somehow obtained even though you just re-installed XP just a while ago. :P

Still, it doesn't hurt to scan anyway.

None.

How would I find that out? Im using XP Pro 32bit SP3, thats about all I know. It was gotten through questionable means. :ermm:

Well SP3 of xp has been known to cause more problems then fixes. It is also said that you need sp2 or sp1 installed first before sp3.

NudeRaider -- EUD actions, specifically. The conditions remained. Today we can even have actions again, but they're all virtualized/whitelisted (not sure on the actual technical implementation) so you can only use them for specific intended purposed, not arbitrary code injections.

NudeRaider -- I mean yes, maps - through EUDs - were theoretically able to do that as well, but that was patched quickly.

not the map, the editor

Symmetry -- I vaguely remember Voy doing some ACE back in the day, but I had no idea EUDs could do that kind of shit. I am very much catching up on the technology

Symmetry shouted: NudeRaider Is EUD editor capable of writing shit onto the player's harddrive? That seems like it would be dangerous
yeah an editor that isn't allowed to write files sounds rather pointless, so I'd assume it can. Like most other programs too btw. and yes, obviously that's dangerous, but also kinda necessary. MS introduced that virtualization for exactly that reason.

Ultraviolet -- I don't think so. I think they shut that shit down after 1.16, maybe even earlier
