I absolutely love Firefox 3! When you start typing in a web address and it automatically gives you a drop down list of suggestions... it's just something I really appreciate now, and that's just the first upgrade from Firefox 2 that I can think of off the top of my head. There are a whole bunch that you start to notice as you use it more and more. I don't really remember Firefox vanilla, but I'm pretty sure that version 2 to 3 was a bigger upgrade than vanilla to version 2.
But yeah, your computer sounds like it's the one being a piece of crap (well, at least Windows). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

No it's not. I have had this kind of problems myself. Firefox would say to "automatically install plugins" it it miserably fails all the time. It also crashes whenever I try to open a PDF, sometimes it randomly didn't load pages and I had to refresh sometimes even 3 times until it appeared. I also hated that I had to press ctrl + t to get a new tab because that was the short way I knew. I don't know if I never found the button to do such thing but it certainly wasn't as clear to create a new tab as it was on IE. Although, it never happened to me for it to not load google. I pretty much got fed up of it being stupid and installed IE 7 back on my other computer. I only had IE 6 and sometimes I had to use IE 6 because firefox didn't work for something so I just upgraded my IE. I'd recommend you to find a solution to your IE problem or use Opera or Safari. |

Speaking of firefox not working, is there any reason why people have to hype about it so much. Its not all that great, it gave me random crashes, I try out the new V and I'm already back on my opera. Some times I swear Firefox vs Everyone else should be a banned topic like Protection vs Falk, Er I mean OsMap.
And yea, Firefox refuses to load pages I enjoy, and my computer was teh pimpz0rz 3 years ago. Firefox, the reason I wear protection. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yellow army assemble! |

Excalibur[MM] I myself have not run into a problem with FF3 on windows.
Although on Linux most of the problems you have brought up I ran into. So I am going to help you from what I learnt on my Linux. So here goes nothing. For the Loading pages problem a simple unplug the connection cord and replug helped me.IF it does not help you,you can try googling for problem. Now for your google problem.I found this funny. There is 2 toolbars the 1ist one is a toolbar made by the FF team that trys its best to link you to the site you need. The second one to the right is the google toolbar.I have heard that the middle toolbar could be buggy on searchs. Now for your PDF problem that is a software conflict.Or it could be FF needing a plugin(on Linux you can get a plugin so yeah lol) Now for the refusing to load pages again that has to do with connection probably,Or you can simply google the problem. Honestly, I've not given Opera much a chance, because the first time I ran it, it crashed before I could even start browsing... but I hold little against it, since I recognize that that's an unusual problem. For all I know, beyond that crash, it could be the most perfect browser I might ever have imagined.
Anyways. "Now for your PDF problem that is a software conflict." Like I already said. ;P I did a quick search, and read that Adobe Reader 6 has problems... but I could only find one mention of it. If there's a chance that yours is out of date, try patching that. "Now for the refusing to load pages again that has to do with connection probably" Um. See my response above. xP I'm still advocating going through the "Connection/Security" options, if you've not already. Although, to pull some random guess out of my ass, it could be issues with cache/RAM... I don't see how, but whatever. Internet Explorer->Google->Opera->Google->Problem? xP This post was edited 1 time, last edit by Esponeo: Jun 27 2008, 2:37 am. Reason given: Removed reponses to deleted posts
