I want to get some ideas in order for when my modding computer is back up and running in the next week or so. I have a few questions on what is and isnt possible, due to my inability to test them due to my modding computer being down.
1. I think no, but can a miner and recource deposit location be the same unit? (IE SCV is also CC)
2. Can a unit have its sub unit (Carrier and Interceptor) as a recource gatherer and it itself be the deposit location? (IE Interceptor = SCV, Carrier = CC)
3. Can a single unit mine multiple chunks or packs of a recorce and hold them (SCV carry three mineral chunks.) or can a single miner hold more than another miner in the same mod?

I know, thats what i meant. I actually want it to mine a chunk, store it, and mine another, and at 3-5 or so, bring them all back for 8 minerals each or whatever. I also wanted to use Voy's nanite queen for it too. Wouldve been an amazing unit. Even the carrier/interceptor idea wouldve been nice.

You can modify the mining animation and change the values. The problem is, there is no known way to change the duration of the mining sequence.

I think a few randwaits would give the nicest effect, along with a random mineral return system varying like:
y = kx, where k = {1, 2, 3}

Also if anyone has a copy of Protocraft, could they upload it? Im not sure what the latest version i released was but if its later than 1.2b, it'd be helpful.

I think the second one is possible. Of course you'll have to sacrifice the carrier or the hero one and make the main carrier the CC and interceptor a miner peon with the proper orders on the .dats. You'll probably have to find a way to force interceptors to come out of the carrier to mine. That would be the hard part I guess.
