Introduction:
Micro Bound was an idea that I had for a while. I thought that it would be easier to bound just by locking the screen onto a fixed position. ( Map size 20x12 screen view size ) I'm sure other bounders can relate as well when you are bounding and your mouse goes to close to the edge of the screen and then your whole screen moves, resulting in you loosing the obstacle. Obstacles: The obstacles in Micro Bound start off easy, but as you progress they become increasingly harder. You will notice this right away. Through extensive testing, most off the bounds can't be beaten by just running through it. ( Some you have to ) Others require a fond memory of the obstacle. You must remember the obstacle and how to run, back and forth, to complete it. Features: This map uses Death Counters instead of Waits. This will make the obstacles look more fluent and as if they never stop. The timing of the obstacles increases as level progression increases. For those who don't know, in order to play this 20x12 size map, you will need to start playing a regular sized map, then quit it, and then start playing this map.

Good looking out.
I almost forgot to mention it. I should of put it in the map description as well.

I played the map and found it rather fun. I am not that great of a bounder and I was able to complete 3 or 4 of the obstacles and that made me kinda happy

So it's basically one of the many Level Up Bounds, but with a locked screen.
This isn't the first time I've seen a bound on a 20 x 12 map size (or 20 x anything, really), but I like your layout a lot. It's a hell of a lot cleaner than ones I've seen in the past. |

I gotta say I played this the other day and it was very well made, even though I managed to beat 2 levels in a row by clicking the other side. >.> One of the few bounds I've seen with patterns that actually make sense.

You can see the old terrain on minimap on top where you started to make a different bound
Also, how exactly are dc's "smoother" than waits? I give the difficulty 6/10. |

I don't know, but you will never get a wait block.

You won't get wait blocks using waits either, if you use the proper hyper trigs

THANKS!!! This was this is why I made it. I didn't know others made it 20x12 but oh well, my bound is better. v2 is comming up soon!!!You can see the old terrain on minimap on top where you started to make a different bound Also, how exactly are dc's "smoother" than waits? You won't get wait blocks using waits either, if you use the proper hyper trigs Death counters provide a smoother entry from the last set of obstacles to the reset of it. Instead of their being a split second or so of the obstacle restarting, death counters help speed this up because its on a seperate timer. |

Okay to save the hassle, why didn't you just make a 64x64 and just have the screen always centered on your playing area? Would of made it easier to host and play instead of having to quit a regular game.

Because I can? 64x64 is not a micro.Would of made it easier to host and play instead of having to quit a regular game. I'm sure that most of the bound hosts would not just start their Starcraft.exe and log on to b.net with the intentions of playing my map... At least I hope not...

Perhaps a player will come on and decide to join "Micro Bound!!!!!!" over some other game, and he'll crash instead. It works that way for anyone who joins the game.

Perhaps a player will come on and decide to join "Micro Bound!!!!!!" over some other game, and he'll crash instead. It works that way for anyone who joins the game. Well, I shall split Player 1 and Player 2 into Force 1 and Force 2 and have Players 3-8 in Force 3. I shall rename Force 1 as Play Another Map and Force 2 as Before You Play and Force 3 shall be called Micro Bound. If they don't get the hint, then oh well. I will also include in the triggers somewhere that to play it after you have played ( started ) another map, and fool proof directions on how to do this. I will do this within the week.

You think it's OK that your map can crash many players? It's a very easy fix that won't hurt your map at all.
Don't be an idiot, Brontobyte. |

The whole idea of Micro Bound was to be as tiny as possible. If the user can't read then what more do you want me to do? I'm not going to change my map to fix this. I will also make adjustments so that its everywhere possible, Map Description, Mission Brief, Objectives. |

Trigger looping has a set amount of time that it is delayed.
Subtract that time from your desired wait time, and it will run 'smooth' if your really that worried about 5 ms. Making it dc's doesn't really improve anything, but if you prefer that go ahead. |

Making it dc's doesn't really improve anything, but if you prefer that go ahead. Yes it does. If I wasn't so meticulous in my map making habits, I wouldn't care. That time is noticeable and it adds that ~5ms to the obstacle and thats not what I want it to do. The whole idea of Micro Bound was to be as tiny as possible. If the user can't read then what more do you want me to do? I'm not going to change my map to fix this. Where did I say that? o.O' Ok, how about I just make it clear that the map is going to remain the size it is. You can keep on posting but I refuse to change it. If its really that big of a deal, just don't play it? I want it to be the size of the screen. If I didn't I wouldn't of made it 20x12. Oyen even asked me if I wanted it to be 64x64 with null tiles around the bounding area, I said obviously, no. |
