When I host maps now that i bought my Linksys Wireless-G Router with SpeedBooster, now NOONE CAN JOIN MY GAMES! WTF IS GOING ON! CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO FIX MY HOSTING LAT? Something that would permanently fix it or at least make it for me to host and be able to have ppl join my games.

If you dont know what to do, dont bother posting. this is serious, i cant beta test any of my maps in production. :-(

You need to port forward your router and if its for warcraft3 you will also need to disable your windows firewall
router settings is like 192.168.1.1
then application and gaming
then forward ports 6112-6119
select both
then your ip 192.168.1.XXX
to check your ip(start menu>run>cmd>ipconfig
it would be listed under ipv4 address or something
(me fully helping mp)legend NEVER!)
if you couldnt understand any of that go ask deathawk

It does not matter what you name it, if we are on the same page. What you are naming it is just your own personal note of what you're forwarding the ports for.

Ermm, I have had multiple Linksys routers(along with switches and other products) and I have had pleasant experiences with them.

You may have had a problems with Linksys, but that doesn't mean his problem has anything to do with that. In this case, he'd run into the same problem with other brands, since many brands of routers have firewalls built in. Don't be a troll.

Bah I dont mean to sound rude or nothin, but the OVERPRICED goods at Wal Mart (WTF 100 bucks for the wireless and 50 for a wireless card!? FFS Ill go wired), and the fact that the CD wont make the damn thing reinstall.

I mean come on, the compter SEEs the router, but when you install the cd, IT CANT?

Ok I will take every bad think I ever said about Linksys if you have a Fix for it.

It isn't exactly that it has a firewall in it. A router simply cannot know where to send incoming connections unless you first tell it where to send it (with a port forwarding rule). That's just the way it works. There's also something available on many routers that when it detects an outgoing connection on that port number that it will automatically forward incoming connections on that port number to the IP address of the computer that initiated the outgoing connection on that port number. Many routers support that, but not all have it configured for any specific programs by default.

IR too lazy to port forward,i just use DMZ (Opens ALL ports, dont do this without an insane firewall and security system lol)

Though that only works for one computer. If you want to set it up for two or more computers then that is not an option. Also, as you mentioned in your post, you do definitely need to have the firewall running on the computer when using that option on the router.
