Even if i try to host the game with just me in it, the game says the map is still being downloaded. (in single player this doesent happen because it cant)
what can i do to fix this?

There are certain limitations to a map which, when exceeded (with a special map editor) will make the map unplayable in multiplayer.
The ones I encountered most often are
1) The title of the map (and possibly force names) contains a special character (like <Enter>)
2) Buildings placed at the edge of the map which jut out of the map boundaries
3) Missing start locations for players (I think you wouldn't be able to create the game at all, but worth to check)

This one gets my vote for most likely.

You'll be able to host. The map will just crash at startup.

If you have enough valid start locations, you can create the game. The stuff of players without start locations will just not appear.
All those things check out lol...=\

Did you protect the map with anything?
None.
no, but i think it might be the + sign in the file name.
None.
Hmm, try it, some symbols DO cause problems with SC.
