I have grouped the latest Runestones by their type, rather than the class. I'm trying to get a sense of how the grouping works, I'll continue adding spells.
- Modifies Damage
Barbarian Whirlwind - Shoots bits of rock and gravel in every direction, dealing area effect damage.
Barbarian Throw Weapon - Increases the ability's damage.
Monk Sweeping Wind - A flurry of blades increases Sweeping Wind's damage.
Wizard Ray of Frost - Beam increases in damage the longer it remains in use, to a cap.
Wizard Hydra - Hydra becomes blue-coloured and uses a chilling breath to do frost damage.
Wizard Mirror Image - The clones have increased hitpoints and last longer.
Demon Hunter - Increases the damage of the explosion at the point of impact.
Witch Doctor Acid Cloud - Causes immediate damage instead of a damage over time effect.
Witch Doctor Plague of Toads - Flaming toads with fire-based attacks.
Witch Doctor Poison Dart - Fire damage with each hit.
Witch Doctor Skull of Flame - A small patch of flame is left after the initial explosion which deals damage over time.
- Modifies Area of Effect, Damage Spread, # of Targets.
Barbarian Whirlwind - Barbarian spawns smaller whirlwinds which deal direct damage.
Barbarian Throw Weapon - The weapon ricochets, striking multiple targets.
Monk Sweeping Wind - Expands the area of effect and strikes enemies with additional fire-based attacks.
Wizard Ray of Frost - Wizard is surrounded by a swirling vortex of sleet, damaging any foes that come into contact.
Wizard Hydra - Hydra becomes blue-coloured and shoots lightning balls that cannot miss.
Wizard Mirror Image - Increases the number of clones per spell cast.
Wizard Teleport - After teleporting several clones are created, and subsist for a sort time.
Wizard Electrocute - Increases the amount of targets that are hit by the lightning chain.
Demon Hunter Cluster Arrow - Fires enemy-seeking missiles instead of grenades.
Witch Doctor Acid Cloud - Increases area-of-effect radius.
Witch Doctor Plague of Toads - Skill changes to a raining ability, hitting one area over time.
Witch Doctor Poison Dart - Multiple darts fired per use of the spell.
Witch Doctor Skull of Flame - The skull bounces several times, damaging each area it bounces.
- Miscellaneous Modifiers
Barbarian Whirlwind - Provides the barbarian with immunity to immobilizing effects.
Barbarian Throw Weapon - Instead of throwing whatever weapon is equipped, a stunning hammer is thrown.
Monk Sweeping Wind - A persistent whirlwind surrounds the monk, dealing damage to any foes that come into contact.
Wizard Ray of Frost - Decreases beam damage, but increases reduction in target movement and attack speed.
Wizard Hydra - Hydra becomes green-coloured and spits acid.
Wizard Electrocute - Targets killed by lightning explode in an electrical nova, dealing area-of-effect damage.
Demon Hunter Cluster Arrow - The Cluster Arrow is launched high into the air and rains down grenades.
Witch Doctor Acid Cloud - Spawns slimes that attack nearby enemies.
Witch Doctor Plague of Toads - A huge, stationary frog that eats enemies and spits out their loot.
Witch Doctor Poison Dart - Slows targets when hit by the dart.
- Modifies Resource/Health
Barbarian Whirlwind - Reduced Fury cost.
Barbarian Throw Weapon - Throws a monster corpse rather than a weapon. Sacrifices shorter range for increased damage.
Monk Sweeping Wind - Increases Spirit regeneration.
Wizard Ray of Frost - Arcane Power cost reduced.
Wizard Hydra - Hydra is fiery-coloured yet larger, and shoots walls of flame.
Demon Hunter Cluster Arrow - Instead of grenades, the skill spawns shadow creatures that attack nearby enemies and leech life to the demon hunter.
Witch Doctor Acid Cloud - Afflicts enemies with a disease effect that deals damage over time.
Witch Doctor Plague of Toads - Reduces cost of the spell.
Witch Doctor Poison Dart - Steals mana with each successful hit.
- Crowd Control Modifiers
Barbarian Whirlwind - Critical strikes confuse enemies, forcing them to attack their allies for a short time.
Barbarian Throw Weapon - Confuses enemies that are hit by the ability.
Monk Sweeping Wind - A powerful sandstorm billows with the monk's attacks, damaging enemies and knocking them back.
Wizard Ray of Frost - Enemies slain by Ray of Frost have a chance to leave an area of ice on the ground where they die, damaging other enemies if they move through it.
Wizard Hydra - Hydra becomes purple-coloured and does Arcane damage.
Wizard Teleport - Damages targets at the teleport location.
Demon Hunter Cluster Arrow - Adds a stun effect to the grenade explosions.
Witch Doctor Acid Cloud - The witch doctor belches forth a directional pool of acid.
Witch Doctor Plague of Toads - The toads spew gas which blinds enemies.
Witch Doctor Poison Dart - Instead of a dart a face-biting snake is shot at the enemy, stunning them. Best. Debuff. Ever. I can even picture the tooltip: Snake-On-Yo'-Face. Description: Get these mother-****ing-snakes off my mother-****ing-face!
