Slashdot.org
Blizzard and Activision are merging, and CEO of Activision will be the new CEO of Blizzard. I hope this doesn't have any negative affects on SC2.

Cool, maybe they will make more games now. Maybe if WoW has sex with Call of Duty we will get a cool game.

Well I guess this can't be that bad. I mean could the 2 teams work together to make a 1st person starcraft shooter? :-_-:

All though why didn't blizzard merge with Nintendo. Super Zergling Brothers anyone?

If the Activision CEO is smart he'll just let the Blizzard peoples do their thing and stick to the massive amounts of mediocre games they're good at.
Either way, we'll still have to see the much less awesome Activision logo much more often from now on.

You will not notice anything different. Both companies will keep their specific brands.

I love that. Blizzard screams "Everything is the same! Nothing is ruined!"
Besides that, did I see something about blizzard stock? :omfg:

Great way to make the company prosper even further. Just like how Exxon and Mobil joined and is now one of the biggest companies and is currently the biggest oil company. Many companies are now doing this like the most recent one, AT&T and Cingular. Activision Blizzard might just be a new major company.

It's not exactly a new trend.

I never said it was. The most common thing is a major company takes over minor companies, but this is two successful companies merging.

OMG... Blizzard just threw there name away... I am beginning to have like 0 interest in them now...

They didn't throw their names away. It is still Blizzard Entertainment. The only thing that is different is the stock company in which people identify and buy stocks from. They haven't even changed or fused anything together an are still working on seperate things. In the Questions and Answers, it shows that there will be no noticeable changes at all and no one will even get fired/ exchange/ etc.
