My laptop's audio quality leaves much to be desired, so I'd like to purchase some decent speakers for it. Things I'd like:
Decent sound quality. I need it to play both highs and lows decently, with as little static as possible.
Portability. I won't have a large desk, so whether I want to leave them on the desk or take them with me, they'd have to be fairly small.
Wireless preferred (so I can plop down my laptop near them and they'd play), but I'm not sure that the technology is really there yet.
I have no idea how to buy speakers, so I'll just leave that here. I'm currently using stock Dell speakers on my desky, and they're fairly small and have almost as good sound quality as I'd like (they completely died on the low-heavy song Devlin added to his secondary SEN preview-video, but otherwise have done fairly well). Anyway, thanks in advance, SEN.

Wireless speakers of above-average quality are going to rape your wallet.
For wired:
2.0:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168361160482.0 will be more portable because there's no woofer, but 2.1 will sound a LOT better because there is a woofer. I personally can't use anything below 2.1.
Also, keep in mind 99% of laptops have a shitty soundcard to start with, so you may be fucked either way.

I'm not really looking for above-average, just above-crap. As I said, I'm currently using some crappy Dell speakers for my desky (probably $6 if they were still being sold), and they're almost good enough. And I'm not planning on it being particularly loud. I've looked at those Logitech speakers (the ones without the woofer) before, and probably what I would pick myself. I'm not going for a woofer to conserve space. And, really, these are just to replace my laptop's speakers with something half-decent - my lappy's speakers are
really bad. They're okay for watching videos, but playing something even mildly demanding at low volumes kills them.
So, basically, I'd still like any opinions on wireless speakers, because having them play without messing with wires would be nice (since I'll be moving my laptop around). If I can get small, wireless, decent (or half-decent) speakers fairly cheaply, I'll be very pleased. I can't find that on newegg, though - they don't seem to have wireless for just two speakers.
On the subject of my soundcard, the audio device I found was "Realtek High Definition Audio" and the laptop description page shows "Intel® High Definition Audio". Again, though, my demands are so modest that I don't really expect integraded audio to be a problem.
Thanks, Ex.

In that case Cent, might I suggest a high quality headset? It'd be just as good if not better than the level of speakers you're looking at, has a microphone, and some of the higher-end ones (~60$) have on-board X-Fi sound, meaning they'll bypass your shit soundcard and do the processing themselves at a higher quality.
And yes that's your generic integrated shitty soundcard. Its the Intel GMA of soundcards.

Whether cent wants it or not. Out of curiosity post those head sets please.

Eh. I actually already have a decent headset which I don't really use (people keep borrowing it, but still..). I'd rather take the portability + wireless + notlookingweird over a slight audio quality increase.
I'm guessing from your search for alternatives that you couldn't find anything fitting my requirements?
Idea: Some device to which the music is streamed to from my computer and to which I can connect two wired speakers? <_<

Something like this:

You really can't find much other than what I've rec'd without getting very complicated with receivers and such. And it'd all be for naught with your crappy soundcard anyway. Just get a decent 2.0 wired set and have done with it.

Bought two speakers at Best Buy. Not the X-140's but also Logitech. They're pretty good. They still get raped by something as bass heavy as
this, but thankfully I have none of that in my library. Much better than the built-in ones. Thanks for the help, Ex.
