[ Zombies : World ]

Description

Zombies: World is a continuation of Zombies : Europa by S.Hussein, in the event where the humans lost in Europe.

It's a diplomacy type map, where you capture cities in order to gain resources. Here we have two races pitted against each other, the humans and the virus.

Different governments take over certain regions either as proxies or to settle old scores in the wake of the zombie apocalypse.

My main problem with this map is that people get really pissy about the balancing. Any side that I play on tends to be the "rigged" one. I've had some copying issues where people actually downloaded my map, changed a couple of things and claimed it as theirs. Can someone help me test to figure out the "balancing" problem?

About 3 different people claim to have made the original version of this that you and 20 other people have decided to copy. It's futile to guess who the orginal credit belongs to.

As far as I'm concerned, they only 'good' version is one that takes care of the map maxing out and not being able to create more units so god dam early. I'm told via rumors that someone made a version that takes care of this, but I've yet to actually play it. I also hate that no1 seems to like the Queen-broodling bomber and takes it out of their versions. It was one of the few unique features the map had.

Being a huge Zombies Europa fan, and S.Hussein fan in general, I'm pretty tough on zombie diplo maps.

Being a huge Diplomacy hating maps, I have yet to see any good zombie diplo maps, even if the map has zombies in them.
They're always, ALWaYS too slow, too boring, too many counters, too hard to understand, too big, too underarchieving, and too little actual fighting.
I don't fucking care if the game starts picking up later, I want the action to pick up asap, if not immediately. It's a zombie map for christ, we should have shits hitting fans.

What I'm trying to say is, I don't see anything special from what you've described so far. All you've done is just throw a bunch of numbers at us, which doesn't impress me one bit.
Moreover, a screenshot is REQUIRED or else this will be locked.

I don't really care whether or not you believe if I'm the original map creator (I am). I fixed it up very well, the Map Max has been taken care of and the game so much more fun to play now. It was my fault that I released an unfinished map into the public, and thus copied versions of it spawned. I intend to redeem myself by making this map the best uncontested. The endless hours I put into replicating/refining S.Hussein's zombie system just to have other people rip the map and claim it as theirs kind of saddens me. But like I said, I am at fault for releasing the map too early. This is my first map afterall, everyone's always skeptical of the new guy.

One of the biggest walls I've come across is when humans mass up too many units. There's simply no counter the zombies have, aside from the Queen Bombers. At that point people point out how "cheap" it is, which I agree to but they don't understand, there's nothing a zombie can do when they've massed up that many units.

I've also been tinkering with a new transport system for the Zombies. It goes like this:

-Advanced Research Base (Psi emitter)
-spawns Infected Air Ship (Carrier)
-At the bottom of the map, there's an interior of the ship, with 2 starting hatcheries and 1 nydus tunnel.
-Send units to either exit, and they spawn right under the carrier. Yes, exactly like the Tyranids from WH40K Diplo.

So far people say they like this better than the arbiter transport, but I'm worried that this can get abused somehow.

The biggest problem with this map is that the learning curve is really high. Any ordinary guy in the lobby won't immediately understand how the game mechanics work. Hydralisks won't be too effective against planes, Tanks won't be able to kill normal zombies and human infantry can barely damage the Hunters.


I can understand your skepticism, for me to come and post out of the blue like this. I've put a lot of hard work and effort on this map, and I just want to make it the best i can be.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

Could you upload the images at some imagehoster and link them directly into your first post?

btw, what's a city in this diplo? a beacon?
