http://sc2.curse.com/downloads/sc2-maps/details/hungry-broodling-rpg.aspxAn RPG unlike any you have played before:
On the fringe of space, the rogue cerebrate Glummoth battles against a joint Terran and Protoss military alliance.
Unlike other cerebrates who are content to use what the Overmind has left them, Glummoth has continued the Overmind's evolutionary experiments to bolster his forces. Just as the Overmind's experiments succeeded in creating the mighty Queen of Blades, Glummoth's years of experiments have finally yielded his own mighty warrior; The Hungry Baneling!
Created with one purpose in mind, The Hungry Baneling consumes all in its path, friend and foe alike.
The more you eat, the more you grow. The more you grow, the more you can eat!
Features:
-Control a baneling which grows in size, speed, and health with every morsel it eats. eating also heals you.
-hit "tab" to toggle UI on and off.
-hit space bar to toggle the camera locking onto The Hungry Baneling.
-use WASD or a click of the mouse to move.
-Opening Intro can be skipped by pressing any button.

VERY fun map. Great concept, a lot of fun. Put a smile on my face
I died. Twice.
But
ONLY because I rushed the main Zerg base after he yelled at me and said to kill me. ;_;
Oh well. Still awesome.
Thanks folks glad ya like it. I've got a sequel under development which will be multiplayer co-op but I'm not in any rush since there's no way to play co-op yet, heh. Keep an eye out for "The Hungry Banelings: A second serving" shortly after sc2 launches at the end of July

Yes. Stay local, kiddies.

Oh, and I can't wait till I find out the cheat codes for SC2.
now we just need to give the Baneling some abilities
None.
Give the banelings blink, like the stalkers.
None.
Currently i'm not planning on giving the baneling too many abilities. Maybe a speed boost. perhaps some kind of "corrosive fart" ability which creates an aoe slowing effect to slow your pursuers. but not much beyond that for the co-op game.
I am, however, considering developing a ffa style map using The basic premise of the hungry baneling where you try to stay bigger than your competition so you can eat the other banelings. If I do get around to making it then this map will feature a bunch of baneling abilities to keep playing on their toes.

So you basically built a katamari for SC2.... winnnnnn

Soooo somebody published my map before I could using the B.net publishing feature so now I can't release it under its intended name. They also left it set to "private" so nobody can view or play it. If it was anyone on here, please delete it so I can publish it myself and continue to release updates for it. I'll just assume you had the best intentions in mind and wanted to get it out there and didn't realize it would prevent me from releasing updated versions of the map.
Thanks.

Not me!

What you could do is just alter a little thing in the FILE NAME (the .sc2map thingy) and you'll be able to publish.
For example, replace '_' for spaces, or vice-versa.

Just noticed that your link actually says "hungry-broodling"
hehe, yea I kept accidentally typing "broodling" instead of "baneling" when first making the map, and that included the initial name i published it under, doh!
It's published on bnet as "The Hungry Baneling RPG" and is a slightly updated version from the one you download off the net.

If you can get someone to help you with a stronger physics system you can add a ramp for jumping =p or something along those lines

I had fun parking him somewhere until he got ridiculously huge.

I had fun parking him somewhere until he got ridiculously huge.

What happens when it becomes larger than the map's dimension?

Hah, I tried that out of course. Past a certain point, it stops drawing the map and slowly fades to black. I assume I've exceeded some sort of rendering distance especially since my computer started dying trying to display all of the movements on the map at once. I had to click on the minimap to go eat the Overmind to end the game.
