How can I make the traps on instalation terrain owned by a different player? I want to use the actual doodar for a terrain effect when they leave a hole behind in the ground after they are killed. I tried being selected on a different player when placing them but that didn't work.
None.
I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.
You can create the holes manually using editors like scmdraft 2.
Just go: terrain palette -> tileset indexed -> scroll down to the end -> scroll up till you found the right doodad tiles.
Then you can add the floortraps manually on the ground (use the zoom to place them perfectly). Then they count as normal units.
If you only want the tiles (the hole in the ground) -> only place the tiles.

Don't quite understand what you try to do. Pls try to explain with different words.
Doodads are never placed for a player for they are more like terrain than they are units. How to place them as units (and not as doodads) is explained below.
How can I make the traps on instalation terrain owned by a different player?
In ScmDraft
1) choose the player in the toolbar,
2) go unit layer (in the toolbar)
3) and choose on the left sidebar:
. . units -> neutral -> doodads -> floor gun trap
4) and place it where you want.
It will be created for the formerly selected player.
Btw. this works on any terrain set, not only on installation because units are independent from the terrain set (doodads are not!).
What I want to do is make holes in the ground on the floor tiles, this happens when a gun or missle trap dies. I want to make those holes in the ground but the editor keeps making the traps owned by Player 1 (me). I want to make the traps owned by another computer so they can be destroyed and leave holes in the tiles to make it look damaged.
I would take a screen shot but I don't have a converter for SC screenshots.

You are NOT adding a DOODAD to the map. You are just editing the TERRAIN.
You can create these holes like a already said. You just need an editor like scmdraft 2.
If you do not have such an editor,
here is the link.
Ah, thanks man, I'm kinda new to SCMDraft I didn't know about that terrain pallet thing. Thanks for your help!
