Before i goto bed I want to compile a list of things ive having difficulty performing in the editor.

1. Using a Copy of guardian shield: I want to add armor from using the ability however cannot find where to do so. every attempt ends with no change in any stat.
(SOLVED: Remember to match up your data in the editor, I was not using my copied Guardian Shield Behavior...CHECK YOUR DATA!)
2. How do I change the hue of a unit? HDR..Color..What if i wanted an all Red Zergling or a pitch Black Battlecruiser
(SOLVED? Without Modelling change this seems unreasonable)
3. Changing Map size mid-edit..just to go over some notes: Nothing happens when I try to do this
(SOLVED: Im an idiot. Does the map sizes seem a little small to anyone else?)
4. Watching someone play Warcraft 3 (the closest ive ever come) I noticed a night/day thing. Lightning could be great for simulating Night/Day and ive seen a timer..but does it work and how?
4.B. And what about multiple times in the day..sunset..sunrise.. Shit, Lets be Santa. /quote
5. I want one of my Hero units to have a Trail of after-images when he walks or performs an action (attacking, fapping, whatever) How do i go about this?
6. Underground and burrowing, is it easier now? Are we able to access an "underground map" of the original map?
7. Wind/Rain/Lightning: Are these use-able at this time? Everytime i place one nothing usually happens...
8. I noticed there was a Civilian "Blimp" in the Doodads, leaving me to think it was rejected as a unit and put there. Can Doodads models be used as actor models?
9. Has anyone started working on a cleaned up editor? Yes, i know Blizzard ~MIGHT~ clean it up but i think its fine the way it is. Whyd I ask? ..well, I know our boys can make it better.
10. How do I place Items on the map? this eludes me...I have items and I need to give them away~
11. Are we able to directly transfer over Warcraft Models to Starcraft? Alot of them are really nice.
12. I tested a "third person shooter" and it was terribly laggy. Does anyone know why this is? How do they get their game so lag-free?
13. Just a side question, Has anyone played Tribes? I am fully certain we can recreate Tribes in the SC editor for online FPS action.
14. Are we able to take unit models apart..Like Tank Turrets and heads and such..? Scythe Armed Zealots or perhaps Immortal Turretted Tanks..?
15. Is there a way to reverse an animation and use that? Example: Warping in image, using that for Blink ability out..except reversed.
15.B. Also is there a way to delay someone from Blinking back into existence? IE: Start Blinkout, wait 1 second, Unit appears in BlinkIn in desired location.
If i think of anything else, and I will, I'll update the list. Thaaanks

2. The best help I can give for 2 is to learn how the hallucination tinter works. The actor is applied when the the hallucination behavior is on, as you can see by the events in the hallucination actor. Just play around with it.


3. In the top toolbar of the editor, go to Map -> Map Bounds. A dialog will pop up. You can change the map bounds from there as well as the camera bounds, which are denoted by the dotted yellow lines. The camera bounds determine the total area accessible by the player, so you have to increase the camera bounds as well as the map bounds if you want to increase the total playable area.

10. After creating an item object and assigning whatever effect, behavior, or weapon you want to it, you then need to create a unit object of type item. Then you need to create an actor object which links to the unit object you just created.

15b. Take the blink ability under the Ability tab, it should be called Stalker - Blink in the folder Effect - Target. Then look at the Effect field, you will see that the ability runs the Effect called Stalker - Blink (Teleport). Instead of that, make a new Effect that applies a behavior. The behavior will be a new behavior that you create which will have a duration of 1 and a period count of 1. Then in its Effect expired field make that run the Stalker - Blink (Teleport). Then go to the actor of your unit and add an event with the event msg type as behavior, source name as the behavior you created that had a duration of 1 and the subname being on, and then for its action make it Set Visible disabled. Make another event with the event similar to the one you just made, except make the subname off and then change the action from set visible disabled to enabled.

So basically what you're doing is you have the stalker Ability run an effect that applies a behavior with a duration of 1. When that behavior expires it will run the Stalker - Blink (Teleport) effect. Meanwhile your unit actor will make the unit not visible while the behavior is on and then make it visible while the unit is off.

1.Reply: Thanks, Ive tried and have changed it around but it doesnt seem to affect me in a visible way. also, I want to decrease movement speed while it is active: I saw the movement bonus and messed with it but to no effect.

The hallucination is just an example of a unit tinter in action. What happens with the hallucination ability is that a unit is created with a bunch of modifications that have its attack and abilities and stuff disabled and the flag hallucination enabled. Then there's an actor that tints that unit a dark blue so you can tell it's a hallucination.
