They can siege and attack like a rapid-fire tank, has a very slow turning ability, and, the coolest part, they are built by an SCV!

I can imagine the microing with marines to kill these guys, with their short turning ability.

I just realized, that while many people think this will replace the siege tank, it really won't, because it can't fire in all directions.

If you watch the Action Movie with the marines attacking there are siege tanks behind the bunkers. Or at least I think so. It is hard to tell if they are buildings or siege tanks.

They still get annihilated by the Thors.

But I'm saying that Thors will not replace the siege tank when it comes to defense because a Thor cannot turn while sieged, it can only fire in one direction.

Im not too sure, no one would send out a thor alone, you would most likely have support units. But then again the unit production cost and time might be too drastic so building tanks would be more efficient.

i've seen a video with Thor Gameplay in it.....and i also seen a lot of pplz against the unit already...saying its too slow to micro and blah blah blah....if they think thats slow to micro with why dont they use a reaver with no shuttle lol.....i gald to see terran is getting this unti (finally terran will have a real powerhouse ground unit)...it looks to me like the main purpose of the Thor is Anti-Heavy Vechicle...that means u can take out annoying archons or ultras without having to do too much microing. and it definitely needs support, maybe some vikings and siege tank :D

The unit in itself is entirely overpowered in almost every way. It murders choke points and buildings within seconds and has a whopping 700 HP. The Cobra "counter" sucks against it. It's impossible to attack a Thor from the ground, because any non-retarded player will have a well balanced support army with it (invincible from ground attacks and with decent AA support as well).

The unit is uncreative, and boring. Just the fact that it WALKS is stupid, it makes no sense for the military not to put the damn thing on treads instead of spend time and money balancing it's weight distribution to walk over rough terrain. Nothing more than the average fatass mech you see in Mech Assault and other games like it.

Microing and fighting with smaller units is what made SC fun and last so long. With units like the Thor, all it becomes is "attack-move -> watch". No micro, no skill.

The Thor ruins SC2 in my opinion. It's the only unit I don't like. Blizzard doesn't need to add shit like this to get new players to buy the game, I hope they realize this and stick to the theme of the original when it comes to making powerful units.

doubt it... i know lots of people are saying "omg what noob would send a thor alone?" but i think their not thinking "omg what noob wouldnt send coutner units with spell casters!" cuz i mean with the new spells they must have plus the microeing of the opposing force would even it out.and im also feeling like ur thinking TvT beacuse we still have seen the zerg yet so whos to know? maybe they can do a ling rush with the new worm unit? maybe they gave the defiler (assuming they still have it) a spell that freezes mechs (splash lock down?) for some time?.

i still wouldnt give the final word that sc2 is gonna be unbalanced becuase of the new "God units"(and yea i know the thor doesnt have the only one at a time thing :/ )

btw, do u think the new goons sheild upgrade versus heavy damage help wit hthe thoR? ;)

Maybe the reason it doesnt have threads is because creep fucks it up or something, IMO it would be more realistic to have it on legs rather than threads because threads require mostly flat ground while legs offer better climbing and mobility or something to that level. Also its because it looks damn cool, although the empire might of wanted threads in the battle of hoth... damn speeders. anyway think of it as a goliath... with a bc on top.

trust me...those lasers aren't going to be as dominating as you think...

...and if you're referring to its artillery cannons, those are a special ability, not its normal attack.

Crazy unit, too bad it can be overrun by zerglings due to its slow turning and gay range.

also my guess is that it has the range similar to a siege tank so units can go right up to it, but unlike a siege tank it cant shoot enemies at melee range.

Mini Moose 2707 -- Sorry, 1.6 is here in case you wanted it. I think G is what people mainly host on battle.net these days.
[06:35 pm]
Mini Moose 2707 -- There are also the C versions by ClansAreForGays which I believe he is no longer working on and has passed to IAGG for his G versions. I can also offer Unholy's File: Temple Siege v1.6 beta1.6 from February 2010, which I don't think caught on as much as the G versions. I haven't heard of ib versions, but I also haven't been following TS much, either. Those were taken/given to FlashBeer to make 1.7.

Mini Moose 2707 -- I have a place in TS and I know it. My contributions made the game what it is, but they are not what's kept it going since I stopped editing it.
