I liked it towards the end when Palin got owned by Biden with her "original maverick" idea.

So the top 50% of people excluding the top 10% actually pays 35% of the taxes. That means 40% of wage earners (basically our middle class) are paying 35% of the taxes. That's alright with me. The top 10% honestly doesn't need 40% of the money, does it? They aren't doing 40% of the work, why should they get 40% of the money?
Your math is a bit off, but while it's not so extreme, there's a reason why it's a percentage, they worked to get that 40% of the money, it took effort to get to that position, what's the drive to work hard if you can't have a nicer life because of it?

I like how Palin has more experience than Obama. Obama is running as a canidate as president. What is one of the roles of a president? Commander in Chief. I have no trust in Obama, nothing against him, but I rather have someone with knowledge running the USA.

so earlier today, i was like "man, i'd rather have a black friend than a white friend"...

I'm not racist, I would be glad if we had a black president for the first time, but Obama is not the right person.

I'm clear that the majority of African Americans are very pro-democratic. If actually, has anything to do with you favouring the conservative republicans.

How does that have anything to do with what I say? I'm not African American.

Did I even say that you are African American?

Then your post had no purpose in statement to mine.

Damn Thermodynamics evening Exam. But I still managed to watch most of it.
I was rather impressed by both candidates I'll have to say. I'll just wrap up some of my thoughts and opinions in a nutshell.
- Felt like Palin seems uncomfortable when beginning her arguments over certain issues. Especially on issues like gay marriage and the war in iraq.
- It also felt like Joe Biden, like someone here said earlier (rantent?), kept repeating the same attacks on Bush over and over again.
- I liked Joe Biden's final remarks about John McCain not being a maverick. That IMO was the best "ownage" if anything.
- I get this "vibe" that both candidates seem to dodge many questions that they were asked. Especially from Palin. Not sure if any of them were intentional or not (due to time constraints).
- One issue that really caught my eye was the Gay marriage/rights one. Both candidates support same sex couple rights, but at the same time disfavor gay marriage. I expected this from Palin/McCain, but from Biden/Obama too? I thought I read somewhere that Obama would support Gay marriage.
- Several more thoughts jotted down somewhere in my mind but i guess they ran away...
Who won? I'll say I can't really make out a clear or obvious winner. Who do I like more? I don't know but I do have to give Palin much credit for not messing up and handling the pressure in a good way. Oh and this was also the first time that I actually got to see Joe Biden speak. Initially I had my doubts about him but after hearing him speak tonight, I know that I can sit down comfortably knowing everyday that the potential Democratic Vice President is a reliable, trustworthy, and excellent man of good character. Knowing more about these two candidates (i only knew of all the talk and/or slander the media spews out about Palin, but Biden on the other hand was a complete question mark) was my primary motive for watching this debate

Oh yes it does, Echo. The vast majority of African Americans are very pro-democratic long before Obama became a nominee, the chances of a black conservative republican President are at an all-time low. And you are seemingly to favour conservative republicans.

Hmm, I wonder how that goes with what I said.

I like how you try to cover up your misconception.

It appears you appreciate George W. Bush as calling him one of the 'best US Presidents' of all time. Then as soon as you heard liberals calling John McCain more of the same as George Bush, you just suddenly approached and took that as a compliment and should be set on for the next President. You are clearly favouring the conservative republican side.
I have a high chance doubt if you would ever appreciate any African American nominees as President since the VAST MAJORITY are pro-liberal and pro-democratic.

Keep it up and denying your wrong doing.
Anyways if you want to discuss that, being African American and being a liberal and democratic has NOTHING TO DO WITH ONE ANOTHER. African Americans are not one person, there are individuals with different views. Most African Americans have a strong Christian belief in the United States, therefore most support McCain. I appreciate George W. Bush because he did his duties as a president when our great country was attacked. Our economic failure is actually from Clinton, who was also a president I really appreciated. And yes, I am favoring the conservative side, but not the republican.

You obviously have no experience or actual information about anything outside your life.

Oh yes I have, but what the hell did you just say? You sound ridiculous.

I'm the one who sounds ridiculous? You're the one who is in complete denial because you made a misconception that I was black. Clearly you implied it and you are completely denying and dodging the original statement. Learn to read what I responded to your terms.

Back then I said you CLAIMED to be 'black'. Now I didn't even say you were black but I called you a conservative republican. Man, just look at whatever the hell you're saying.

I'm just going to ignore you now. No point in dealing with some person who will continue to deny his mistakes.
