Well I can't trust uberation anymore so I will try OSMAP 2! I only have OSMAP 1. Thanks again Falkoner
None.
BTW, I just ran two quick tests saving with OSMAP2:
Armored Core.scx
OSMAP2: 51.1 KB
ProEdit: 36.1 KB (wins)
uBeR@TiOn^3: 38.0 KB
Uberena 030.scx
OSMAP2: 49.0 KB
ProEdit: 34.0 KB (wins)
uBeR@TiOn^3: 35.0 KB
Probert the Probe III.scx
OSMAP2: 68.9 KB (wins)
ProEdit: 75.4 KB
uBeR@TiOn^3: 38.0 KB ... also removed the sounds.
Probert resaved in SCMDraft2 (strings recycled)
ProEdit: 44.3 KB
OSMAP2: 70.4 KB
Hungry Hungry Hydras.scx
ProEdit: 23.2 KB (wins)
OSMAP2: 36.4KB
ladder/(4)Lost Temple.scm
ProEdit: 28.0 KB (wins)
OSMAP2: 41.6KB
uBeR@TiOn^3: 28.5 KB
Open_Reflector.scx [ (U)Bolt_Head's map]
ProEdit: 45.1 KB
OSMAP2: 64.4 KB
Apparently it varies on the map being compressed.
The only difference I can think of between those maps are sounds (Probert), which might be why OSMAP2 won out there.
As of now, I would say that there is no "best compressor".

So I was right? ProEdit is a good map compressor/protector (maybe not the best because its old).
None.
Well, as I said, just try out all of them, and use whichever one works best, they all do different methods, so depending on the map, they compress differently.
The only problem with your tests, Moose, is that I assume that those maps have been string recycled using SCM Draft 2, something that you normally wouldn't get with ProEdit alone.
None.
If its just downgrading the sounds to 8bit 16k sterio sounds, why not open up Sound recorder and do it yourself?

Sure I didn't pop off on SCBW like I wanted to, but I won VRChat. Map maker for life.
Actually, SC works better with 16 bit sounds, not 8 bit, StarCraft can compress them a lot better, and they have better quality.

There's a fuckload of strings to recycle in Lost Temple.
Don't you know about all those extra things added if you play it in UMS?
It becomes like a massive 4 hour RPG!
None.
Also, I didn't use SCMD2 at all on Probert III, which happens to be the only case OSMAP won.
Blizzard hid them in the map, and use hidden EUD actions to pull them out of it.
And the fact that it's the only one you didn't use SCM Draft on only proves my point, since it's the only one where the strings weren't recycled before being compressed.
None.
I resaved in SCMD2, compressed them again:
ProEdit: 44.3 KB
OSMAP2: 70.4 KB
You are correct, sir.
General theory: If you use SCMDraft 2, compress with ProEdit. If you don't, OSMAP2. I have to download Uber@tion and see how that compares.
Try both 2 and 3, they do different things, and when compressing, check the no-password compression for the best. The only thing is, sometimes when it compresses well, it is also messing up the strings and stuff, did you test the maps out at all to see if anything was scrambled?
Also, I wonder why the string recycling makes the maps compress larger than they would without having them recycled in OS Map 2...
None.
What is the most recent version of uberation? I edited some results into my post up there, but I was only able to get version 3 0.02a, which may or may not be the most recent.
Also, funny:

Uberation 2 is more completed than 3.

Okay first of all I can't protect and compress a map and then go and add the wav...there is no point. Second of all about OSMap; I don't use that because I am against unprotecting other people's work..especially without asking the original maker. I think I am going to get Uberation just to give it a try.
And as for music, it is an RPG and I want battle music to be playing...idk I like some good loop music in some maps so I figured why not...
None.
OS Map 2, it acts as both a protector, compressor, and uncompressor, there is nothing wrong with downloading it if you don't plan on unprotecting maps.
Uberation might still be your best choice, but I'd just try them all out and see which one works better.
