Whenever I try to download a large file my internet will download at full speed for the first 5 minutes and then drop down to 0 over time like as if the connection has dropped. My internet is still connected and fine but the download just stops. Like um.. I forget the term. A time out ? When something tries to connect multiple times but constantly fails.

I don't even know what to explain besides that whenever I download large files... the download stops after a small amount of time. sup? :s

ISP = Verzion (fios)

Still Napping

Test if you're being throttled for the type of connection you're using here.

Have you tried downloading from a variety of sources? Try and measure, with a stopwatch, how long the drop off takes to start and see if it is very consistent or has quite a bit of variability. When you say it drops off, do you mean it goes from ~100% speed down to 0% in a matter of seconds, or does it gradually slope down over a period of minutes?

It usually happens when I download large files from file upload sites. Doesn't seem like it depends on the site but more so just random moments. For three days it'll happen where I can't download big files where it'll start at 100% speed and drops to 0 after a minute. Currently I'm having trouble downloading FireFall.

I never have a problem downloading a large file from torrents. I'm not really sure what the cause is or the pattern. :c

So it affects downloads from some sites, but not others?

I presume you're talking about HTTP downloads eg via a web browser. Have you tried using different browsers? Are FTP downloads affected?

UndeadStar -- I wonder if that's what happened to me. A returned product (screen) was "officially lost" for a while before being found and refunded. Maybe it would have remained "lost" if I didn't communicate?

NudeRaider -- PSA: ASUS apparently decided their RMA department needs to "become profitable" and for a while now outright tries to scam customers. They were called out on it a year ago, promised to change, but didn't. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pMrssIrKcY so my recommendation: Stop buying ASUS, and if you already have and need something RMA'd, make sure to not let them bully you into paying.
