I got a heap of trouble. More than I could ever imagine.I have about 30-45 programs that need net framework to run. So I thought okay, no problem. I got the installer from microsoft and it failed to install. I later would try diffrent install types for net framework v4 and they also did the exact same thing.(also I tried net framework 3.5 and it failed as well)
My Operating System is Windows XP Service Pack 2. I heard it works with net framework v4.
I am a very intelligent person. Unfortunatly certain types of troubleshooting is impossible for me, due to I mostly work with mods, hacks, and other things of the sort and not with net framework v4.
Private message or forum answer I just want help.......
Below should be my error log if you wish to see it.

How do I fix the duplicate file error. What files are causing the problem? I noticed that error and have no idea about it.
Note:It didn't ask me to retry, but that error sorta makes sense.

Uninstall .NET Framework, reinstall it.

For whatever reason, the installation cannot create the directory. I'd navigate to the directory it's trying to create and see what's up. If I didn't know any better I would say your installation requires elevation, but that's probably not the case.
I presume you have administrator access on you computer, yes?

Yes, and if you should choose to do this, make sure to use the
.NET Framework Cleanup Tool, it's pretty cool and worked for me when I had to fix some .NET Framework issues. Though, honestly, for Windows XP, I see no reason to have .NET Framework v4, I get by with just v3.5 (which also installs 2.0 and 3.0).

You simply install the versions you need to run the programs you want to run. If you don't have a program that uses a given version, you don't need to install that version.
