Yo dude, like hi, and welcome to my thready-thing! I was wondering if anyone had any space ship models floating around that I could steal use - I'll need like a gazillion and having even a few would be a huge help. They don't need to be textured, or even very good - lower-poly models will be useful for smaller ships.

This is an example of the kind of stuff I'm looking for:

I know that that ship looks pretty stupidiot; that's mostly intentional and/or a side-effect of the fact that that is the first decent model I ever made. :wut:

(On a related note, how to place player color? Is it still that weird pink color?)

EDIT: Gah. The trial version of 3DSmax is limited to 30 days. That could be a problem. Does anyone have the full version who would be willing to convert stuff for me after the 30 days are up?

No, it's a material layer mask that you apply to the texture. The starcraft 2 shader has multiple layers, one of them being player color. There's Diffuse, specular, normals, and many other layers that I'm forgetting right now.

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
