I have an old Windows ME computer that I'm trying to set-up. I keep getting an error message stating "Configuration files not found, using default configuration" every time I boot it up. It loads as if it were in safe mode. How do I fix this?

Uninstall WinME and put anything else on there.

I get this all the time. I don't HAVE anything else, and I'm not looking to spend money. i just want something to put in my room so I can play Starcraft there too.

Get Linux. You should be able to play Starcraft with that, somehow.

Linux, torrents, anything but Windows ME.

I can't do anything until the problem is fixed, because the computer can't read the mouse in safe mode or anything, and it's too difficult to operate only using the keyboard.

Is there anyway to fix it.

You do not need to enter Windows to replace the OS.

....Accepting the fact I'm not going to get an answer to my previous question, how would I do this? (For Linux. I don't want to pay money and I'm not a windows fan)

(Assuming you have the cd) You would just reformat and reinstall it?

Linux is free. You can get Ubuntu and download WINE and run SC on it

I don't think I have the CD. And yes, I know Linux is free.

If just reinstalling Windows, you can also reinstall without reformatting. :P

If you don't have the CD (but have your key somewhere) and have access to a computer with a CD burner, you could find the CD somewhere online, download the CD, and burn it to a disc. It is probably OK to do this with software for which you already have a license.

If you have no access to a computer that can download and burn a Linux image, order a free disc!

I don't think a computer with WinME would be powerful enough to run SC on wine, speaking from experience. You could always try though. I would try to get a hold of Win98se if possible.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
