Uh, it still is a problem, seeing as you couldn't provide the program mentioned.

Um, google 'free malware removal +Registry' or something and I'm sure you could find something that works just as good.

hijackthis i'm sure shows registry entries.. I haven't used it in forever so.

Thanks guys, for all the support, but I resorted to re-formating. Now I have to do 2 things:

1. Get everything that is needed back... which will be a pain.

2. Reformat my flash drive. I don't know if it is infected.

Oh, btw. It was porn, it was a program that looked like a key generator for a program I had just installed, so I wouldn't have to buy it. They are sneaky basterds I tell you.

Also, if anyone could make me an ISO of Brood War, I would be eternally grateful (turns out I lended by Brood War, and the person I lended it to, lost the sucker. >.>)

Go to the blizzard store, enter your CD key and then download it from there.

In most cases you don't actually need to reformat your drive with your OS. Usually you can just do a reinstall without formatting and it will be fine.

By the way, next time you want to run a key-gen program, you should make a VM (virtual machine) to run it in, so only the VM gets infected. ;) (and make sure the VM has its network connection disabled, so it can't access your computer) There are various programs you can do this with that are free. The free ones I can think of off hand are Virtual PC 2007, VirtualBox, and VMWare Server. (there is also Virtual Server 2005 R2, useful for those who want to run a server on another OS in the background on a virtual machine, also free and can run at the same time as Virtual PC 2007)

Thanks, I will do that from now on :)

NEW PROBLEM:

I have a Wireless Internet Adaptor by Linksys. It is difficult to connect to my network. And when I do the connect lasts a grand total of 5 minutes, then this connection stops, I can still send packets, but don't recieve anymore packets. They just stop. No clue why. Anyone?

Also, I'm trying to install SP 3, hopefully that will work.

Also, as far as the reinstall vs. reformat there are still sometimes you do need to reformat, though; but it should be a last resort, in my opinion. If reinstalling because of an infection, it is a good idea to scan for viruses, etc. after the reinstall is done, to make sure you don't accidentally re-infect the system by running something that still remained on the drive (remember, a reinstall may not actually remove the infection but most likely will only stop it from automatically starting when Windows starts).

your net framework might be outdated. Your going to need to get a LAN connection and then get all the windows updates.

I did, I double checked with BitDefender Total Security, supposed to be the best.

Nope, I have it fixed. Service Pack 3 did the trick. Figures that it would be the drivers I installed. (PS: I used another computer to install Service Pack 3, and then moved it to this computer. Ez as pie.)

sounds like moisture control is often a pressing concern in your city
