Mini Moose 2707 trails off. JaFF tries to console Mini Mooose 2707, but it is ineffective. The usual appointment is scheduled on the way out. At the end of his evening, Mini Moose 2707 goes to sleep once more.

I just wanted to apologize for the delays in continuing the game. I've been rather busy and haven't really been thinking about Mafia in the past week. Day will begin today or by tomorrow at the latest.
Also note that the day starting process has begun already and that no new actions or changes to actions may be submitted.

I apologize for delaying the game so long. While I wrote up several of the hits, I realized upon further examination that this game should end here and Dapperdan agrees. For the record, the players to be hit were FatalException (illuminator), Paravin. (the other doctor), l)ark_ssj9kevin, Hug a Zergling, and Oyen. Vi3t-X would also die of Masochism. This would result in six townies versus five mafia. The Avenger would amazingly still not get his first hit. The death pact would, of course, be alive, but with 4 or 5 hits the next night, since it's rather unlikely that they wouldn't be hit. The Avenger, of course, would gain a few hits that since his targets would HAVE to die. But, the Avenger would likely die before using them since mafia hits always come first. So, we skip to the conclusion.

"The mafia made a gigantic effort last night, doctor. Really, they did. They tied everyone to a bunch of explosives in the town square and set them off. Bits of townie flew everywhere. Then the mafia broke the fourth wall. They said they were coming for me," Mini Moose 2707 trails off.

JaFF flashes Mini Moose 2707 a knowing smile. "What if I told you that the mafia is real?" asks JaFF.

"What?" asks Mini Moose 2707.

"The mafia is real. We are coming for you," says JaFF, pulling a pistol out from his desk.

Mini Moose 2707 is in a state of shock and disbelief. "Gentlemen, if you would," says JaFF, clapping his hands together twice. In through the door walk five mafia members: DT_Battlekruser, Zycorax, Dark_Marine, NudeRaider, and TassadarZeratul. Simultaneously, they are draw guns and point them at Mini Moose 2707.

"O SHI-" yells Mini Moose 2707, but bullets are already in the air. He is killed and the secret of the mafia dies with him.

Since it seems that the mafia has won 8/10 games at SEN, is it possible that the odds are stacked in their favor? With death pact, avenger, and masochist, I could tell that you guys were trying to throw the townies a bone. Their victory depends fully on clue analysis and teamwork. But obviously the games tend to end up with mafia victories, since the townies (more likely than not) don't actually analyze things and instead jump on dumb bandwagons.

Anyway, I'm just adding my two cents. I'll be interested to see how the next mafia game is configured.

P.S. In truth, I feel kinda dumb, since none of my clue analysis pointed to most of the suspects (the exception being DTBK).

I suspected these, but I saw no relation to DTBK what so ever. I did however point out he was a former Administrator and "Abused" his power. A clue somewhere in the other pages.

That's because I haven't been playing in most of the mafia games. And what does Mafia 2 count as? Townie win? devilesk win?

I think mafia 7 showed that good clue analysis and discussion could produce results. It's a shame that the final two townies were pretty dumb though.

Also, did you count mafia 9 as a town win?

Shh... That was your fault. I was really bored so I decided to listen to you. And it screwed up.

It's not so amazing - it wasn't a coincidence nobody that was avenged died We knew we had the doctor dead and Shocko was dying the next night, so definitely no Avenger hits.

I must admit that in general the clues have been horrendously difficult. I began to see some of them towards the end (and Shocko too), but for the most part things were opaque.

And for the record, I never lied about my role. Nobody asked. So you can still trust me in the future

Ha, I wasn't even thinking about those games. I'm a tad drunk. Okay, so the mafia/townie victories is more like 5/2.

But still, mafia tends to win. Maybe it's because their roles are inherently easier than the townies'? I have to wonder how much Moose and other mafia game makers have factored human incompetence into their game balancing equations.

Shocko claimed to be the Avenger. Avenging NerdyTerdy to kill someone. We should've just went with that plan.

Also, can I change my info now? Its been months.

I think mafia wins are often just bad luck for the town. In many of the games they get so lucky early on killing a whole bunch of special roles.

The problem is the special roles always let out who they are.

EzDay was raped early on. I tried to absorb hits, but people didn't love me enough to shoot. Thats depressing.

The special roles were really screwing up the mafia. Hits were getting blocked left and right. We had a surprisingly quiet nights at the beginning. Take a look:

We did hit you.. and not only did we know your role there was obviously no point in hitting anyone two night in a row.

I guess I'm still overestimating the intelligence of the mafia players. In mafia 7 the shifters really got owned, and then Phobos the last shifter even gave his role away to a mafia member.

The best part is i was working with nuderaider but i was lying to him too. My actual hitlist was DTBK, Nuderaider, Zycorax and Dark_Marine. If only i hadn't been so naive we would of won ^-^

DTBK the reason for that is we need the special roles to work together so really you have to reveal yourself and hope for the best... maybe next game we should know other special roles or be allowed to pick one special role and be told who it is so we get either small clumps or a whole team...

I think the mafia games should get back to being a bit simpler role-wise. I do believe the townies losses are, partially, a flaw in the balancing.

I would like to see more behind the scenes townie cooperation, which would create a better medium for discussion and clue interpretation for them, rather than the thread that gets closed for several days and PMing people you can't trust. One can argue that cooperating with someone whose identity you don't know is an important part of the game, but I think that doesen't happen as much as we would like and, as we all can see, townies are getting owned a bit too much. I suggest more townie roles that know the roles of some other townies, such as the death pact, town leader with bodyguards, chief of police and detective, etc. Such groups are much more effective in finding mafia and have more influence over bandwagons in the actual thread, thus their findings will have more influence on the actual lynching. I think it's better if no roles of such groups are known to the public (like town leader was, and his bodyguards were not), not to give them too much influence over the thread.
