I have been looking everywhere for a OSX Editor, however, I found StarFire Edit, when I open the application, it looks for the host application StarEdit (Carbon), which I do not have, or have any idea where it is. Does anyone know what I need to do in order for this to work?

StarEdit only works on OS9, and not on intel-based macs. Its asking for a Carbon version of staredit, which I can't seem to find. I need to either find StarEdit (Carbon) to host StarFire, or I need to find a completely different one.

Your best bet is scmd in vmware or parallels, or dual booting windows. There is no carbon staredit, it is only classic.

Just select the staredit that you do have...StarFire Edit works fine on my OS10.3.9 powerbook. Just make sure that you've got Classic Environment up and running so that StarEdit can load; even though the StarFire patcher loads in OSX, StarEdit itself does not. You'll also want to get your claws on the Java version of XEdit for more powerful terrain editing (and you'll need MPQ2K to use it).

the classic environment is not supported with the intel chipset.

It's really unfortunate that Blizzard ported Starcraft to Carbon but not Staredit. For PPC users, we have to use Classic to run Staredit. For Intel users, if Rosetta doesn't work, they need to install Windows.

Well, at least Starcraft II and its editor will be a UB. I hope.

Is this why I can't install SC on my mac?

XEdit is in the works, strictly Mac OS X starcraft map editor. The topic and downloads is at maplantis. The link is: http://www.maplantis.org/index.php?topic=182
The maker's email address is "the_ian_man@hotmail.com" The editor is not complete yet though, and there are still certain bugs. THe last time I checked with him, the editor wouldn't save properly. You could also pm him here, his account here is "Nai". Hope this is what you need. You need MPQ2K.app, google it and download it, then follow the instructions on how to make a .chk file. Then you open that file in the editor.
