Let me give you insight on THIS ARG.
On october 1st 2009 someone posted a link to the website on 4chan's /x/ board, from there a member of http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php. posted the imbeingfollwed site on THERE site and quickly the site became an ARG. The original layout for the site had a picture of what looked like someone taking a picture through a doors peephole (in my opinion). Quickly /x/ channers and unfic members messed with the contrast of the picture to see a face in the top right corner of the picture which served as the sites splash screen. Further investigation showed two text boxes which seemed to work as a Username and Password type of thing. Nobody (to this date) knows the correct username or password but any attempts end with a redirection to a page with the words "You cannot fool me". Looking at the sites source code you could see

Notice the "thedate" and "thetime" people figured if you entered to current days time and date you would guess the password and username but to no avail. Someone pointed out that earlier if you looked at the source code you would see "Itsin" and "thecss". Looking into the sites CSS their were multiple 'out of place' numbers that seemed irrelevant to the sites CSS. Channers and UnFIc's figured that if you were to chaneg the combination of out of place numbers you would get what seemed like a time and date. the date and time was revealed to be October 4th 18:28 (EST).
October 4th 6:28 comes by and the sites image is updated. You can barely see anything. For the most part everything is the same, theirs the username and password (still redirects to "you can't fool me" page") Someone messed with THAT pictures contrast and such and revealed hieroglyphics in the background. To this date the exact translation of the hieroglyphs were not found (as we will find out later on). One thing someone noticed that was different was that under the input boxes (for the username and password) their was a name image, a small .gif which looked like a small dash. Someone figured out that you could change the .gif to a .txt. and found chinese symbols and such although people claim for this to be a red herring, we do not know for sure. Nothign seems relevant from the dash .gifs.
At this point someone figured that this ARG could be related to another ARG started in June i believe? Called waitingtoplay. This ARG ( I think) was about a person who apparently abducted people and killed them. He posted videos on youtube showing him killing his victims (in one video you can see him mash a victim with a hammer to the face). Around that time people were skeptical to wether this was a ARG or a really well created ARG with actors and such. Some people thought that police intervention should've been applied but everyone brushed it off as just REAL good acting. Some time during the whole "waitingtoplay" ARG the PM (puppet master, the person who creates the ARG) tells the players that he left a box in hazard, Kentucky (I think) and a member called Tay went out, she lived in the area, to pick up the box. The directions to the box sent her to a bridge on some highway exit I think it was.
The box contained to locks of hair from 2 different people and a letter that had a ton of random letters. Translated from cyphers and such the gibberish talked about how Tay could keep this "present" as the owners of the human hair would NOT be needing them anymore. At this point we assume that 2 people have been killed in this fictional world.
After a while (I think august?) everyone was stumped and could not find any further clues to the whereabout of anythign relating to waitingtoplay. At some point their was a picture of a message telling the players that they have found a ton of clues WAY too fast and some of them were wrong actually, it goes on to say that 'HE' will see them in 'Oct.' and to remember:
He is Waiting.
That is the tie to these two ARG's The point of this topic is to bring awareness to ARG's really and if anyone is interesting on playing or trying it out well Imbeingfollowed was just started October 1st. The more heads we have on this the faster we can solve this puzzle. The PM INSISTS that this isn't a game and that he is truly killing people and the videos posted are real. Do i believe it? no. But it's still interesting and fun nonetheless.

Currently to my knowledge we are working on translating a new image of a man taking a picture of himself and in the background their are more hieroglyphics. Also blood splatters. just... if your truly interested and can't understand anything I can help 'enlighten you' on the matter.
