I somehow stumbled upon this
http://www.soyouwanna.com/site/syws/englishabroad/englishabroad.html and I ended up looking up a lot of stuff on it. Pretty much if you have a bachelors degree you can go where ever you want and make start making 30k a year, or you can have a narrower amount of options for slightly less pay with just a 1 week certificate course. Now I immediately thought of like 10 dead-beat friends of mine that don't really want to be slackers, but just don't believe in the whole "go to college for 4 years then enter the workforce" thing. I thought that maybe a few senners might also be like them. After I get my bachelors I might try this for a year. Definitely looks good on your resume.
Like if you ever wanna see the Korean OSL games and you have a bachelors you can just sign up here

What do you think? Does it make your scam-senses tingle? Heard of anyone getting fucked over thinking this would be fun?

This sounds very similar to the GAP Year program, where after your Senior Year in High School, you travel the world doing community service and local jobs, and it counts as a year of college.
IMO: It's not a scam and does look good for colleges and jobs, but it gives some slackers a way out of college.

Relatively ancient and inactive
I'll just say that if you know the local language, you can get better pay by being a private tutor. In Russia, for example, when we went on a cruise we met a woman with two children who works as an English private tutor, and she said it payed really well (I forgot the exact numbers, but it was great by the standards). Knowing English anywhere around the world is a plus, though the demand may be dropping.

That sounds pretty interesting. I can't say that I would try for myself, though, because I'd miss the US too much. Of course, if I ever become one of those guys who spends 12 hours a day playing MMORPG's, this would be a good way to fuel the lifestyle.

My girlfriend and I taught English in Japan for a year. Fun times.
