I was wondering if anyone knows any good games for the mac. Blizzard is the only company who I can think of that makes mac games. Can anyone think of any others?

None.

Escape Velocity and Marathon are the only two good games I know made for a mac. I suggest you install Windows.

Could you please post your specs, operating system, and what genre of games you are interested in playing. Also what's your budget for buying games? Are you expecting to get these games for free?

None.

You're most likely correct. Which is why it would be good he answered your question. I guessed it might help as a reference.

If Doom works, we could play on Skulltag together ^^ Make Doom 2 inexplicably and unintentionally appear on your desktop without you're knowledge and I'll help you through the rest. Hell, maybe you could even pick up Doombuilder and learn how to monopolize this already booming game.

Maxis also makes games for Mac, so you can get Spore or Sims 2.

Uhh, I know nothing about macs, but we have the newest operating system (OS X I think) and Intel Core 2 Duo.

Im a FPS fan, but not really WW1-WW2. Not huge on racing. RTS are good, RPG's good too.

Games to buy:
Doom 3, Unreal Tournament 4,

I honestly do say to get a Windows XP install disc and install windows with either bootcamp or VMWare or VirtualBox.
(Follow an online guide to install windows xp properly with bootcamp.)

You can also partition Ubuntu on your mac and use WINE to use windows programs.
(ask me or someone who's done this before if you want to do this, because I wiped my harddrive 3 times trying to install ubuntu lol)

I love Deathmatch games, (I have a free source version of Quake 3 called "Open Arena" and the first UT)
So I might pick up UT 3...I heard it isn't too great though. I'm a Gears fan, so I'll look into buying that as well.

Wikipedia says that Doom 1 and 2 should work on the mac, but I can't find a version that doesn't use exe's.

If you like FPS games, try Urban Terror. There are some other free FPS games for Mac, but I'm not a huge FPS player, so UrT is the only one I've spent any time on recently. If you really want PC-only programs, you can follow Matt's advice and get Windows. If you want to access older Mac games (so that you can save money by going the abandonware route), try SheepShaver...this will also allow you to use StarEdit and other Mac map editing programs.
