DatEdit closes when I switch editing modes

DatEdit has suddenly started to give me a really weird problem. Several of the tabs cause it to close when I click on them. Weapons, Techs, Images, Sounds, Portraits, and Campaign, to be precise. There is no error message or anything. It just hangs for a few seconds, and then closes. Can someone help me?

I am currently working in Arsenal 3, but I would prefer to use the more recent DatEdit.

Don't use A3 at all when doing .dat editing.

DatEdit hates A3 and so should you.

I DO hate it. I can't do any of the stuff I need. But I have to, because fucking DatEdit won't let me edit weapons or techs or anything!!!!! *uberly frustrates*

The problem is that A3 tends to screw up data and DatEdit doesn't like it.

So if you begin working in A3 but decide to make DatEdit do the rest of the work, you won't get far.

Sorry, I made a big mistake. I assumed you used A3 for your work before you used DatEdit.

I currently don't know how to solve this, I would probably send BroodKiller a few PM's.

Okay. *cries*

Or is there a version of Firegraft that works with the newest patch?

No. And I doubt there will be, because blizzard is not being nice to the SC modding community.

All older versions of DatEdit I had did the exact same thing as you described. I have no idea why, as they used to work fine on my previous computer (both use XP). In any case, I've found that the most recent version (1.5d) works beautifully. I don't believe it is uploaded here, but you can read Broodkiller's post.

Lord of the Locker Room

It was a problem I reported to BK and had him fix. If it couldn't find its files (if it was moved around, even the whole directory) it would explode sometimes.

Show them your butt, and when you do, slap it so it creates a sound akin to a chorus of screaming spider monkeys flogging a chime with cacti. Only then can you find your destiny at the tip of the shaft.

No need to request a lock when a question has been answered/solved. It will either naturally fall off the first page and be forgotten, or if people turn it into a spam thread it'll be locked. Otherwise, by remaining open, the thread has the potential of helping other people with the same/similar problem.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Ultraviolet -- Vrael
Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
