I've finally gotten around to finishing a complete version. It's been in production for I think around two years (maybe just a year, it's still been forever) as a result of me going on and off Starcraft. Anyway, it's ready to be released. The only things that would need to be changed are little bugs or imbalances that I have not yet found, but when I do the map will be updated.
Siege Dyne II Triggers by: Fwop_ Terrain by: Woodenfire Gameplay is very simple. Mind control units to select them. Move the Dark Archon to toggle selection mode (information or purchase). Use the units to kill the enemies that are trying to make it to the king. Gain minerals by simply being outside fighting. SCVs and Probes have special tasks like repair the gates or tunnels or pour boiling water on enemies or fire the cannon. Survive for 45 minutes. Ladders will spawn around the castle borders which will allow enemies to easily get into the premise. Simply kill the carrier (a cute innocent critter) and the ladder will fall, killing any unit (besides a boss) under it. Ladders will also be set up inside the castle to ascend to another level, these come from the tunnels. Human players may not use the ladders to climb. A total of five tunnels spawn at various times in the game, and will continue to respawn after their initial set up. Use the SCV (or Worker) to close up the tunnels. Have the Worker sit on a tunnel and your gas will gradually decrease. When this reaches 0 the tunnel will lose a vHP (1, 2, or 3, depending on the difficulty). Gates prevent a mass of enemies from entering the castle. Use the Worker to repair the gates' vHP (same concept as tunnels). Gates have a max vHP of 10. Rams will spawn periodically just before the first boss and will continue spawning until either the game is over or gates are destroyed. When a Ram strikes a gate, it will lose 1 vHP instantly. Rams strike about once every ten seconds. After a gate is destroyed, respective ladders will spawn and increase the rate of flow of enemies into the castle. The bosses are for you to figure out. There is a Mutalisk, a Dragoon, and an Ultralisk, respective of when they spawn during the game. http://www.staredit.net/files/718/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, he's Aldaris =P. Some of the things in the map weren't always my decision either, seeing as how Woodenfire came up with the whole thing. I suppose the King doesn't attack is because the players need to defend him, and not defend himself.
Melee units to the spider will get you, seeing as how you can't even get one hit off without it running you over. Basically, hydras will take care of the spider. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Played it a couple of times more and finally beat it on Easy and then Normal
Why does it sometimes make it so you can't buy the spellcaster units? This happened on easy mode as well. Also, what does the cave beast do? It just says he comes through the tunnel and he just has a hell of a lot of hp, but he doesn't do anything special. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Depending on what units you purchase (in your case, of the units you bought none were spell casters) will determine what kind, if any, challenge you will play. So what you played on was Weapons Challenge, meaning you could not purchase spell casters for the whole game. It happens on any difficulty. I will make some option in the beginning after you choose difficulty to choose whether you want challenges on or a normal game.
In v1.01 the Cave Beast does more. I haven't balance tested him yet, but I'm trying to make it so he will last for a while in the game. Hopefully the changes I made will make him more difficult. Because yeah, I've noticed how easy he was, too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Version 1.02 is now available. Siege Dyne II v1.02
You can now choose if you want to play a normal game or one with challenges. There are four challenges to choose from, and there are expected to be a few more in later versions. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
