We all know who StarCraft is a huge thing in Korea, and is on par with baseball, and other "real" sports. But with the coming of SC2, what will happen to eSports? Will they stick with original SC for eSports, or will they move on to SC2? And those pro eSport players, they've been practicing with StarCraft for years, do you think they will be happy with the upcoming game?
None.
Theres more than 1 game thats in eSports category. Also, I think they will have to move onto SC2. But there are things to consider.
1. KeSPA, the Korean eSports Association will have to pay Blizzard, the legal fees to commence broadcasting of SC2 on TV and hosting tournaments with the game as such. ( The entire SC leagues and the latter have not been paying for 9 years in Korea, and still hasnt been paying. The Blizzard has no back to demand payment now. )
2. It also depends on how popular Starcraft II will be in the world market. ( This means computer spec requirement shouldn't be so high in the first place. )
And, progamers who play Starcraft will also play Starcraft II better than the average players, guarrentied. It doesn't matter whether they would be happy or not. They like games in general, and most of them agree SCII's controls and feels are similar to SC.
