How To Load Custom Maps
1. Download JDoom (Get the Addons too!)
2. Install for the Games needed
3. Set Your PWAD folder in JDoom
4. Put the WAD file you want to use in that folder
5. Check off the file in the addon selection list
6. Enjoy!


And yes I know we can attach items I just like Mediafire.

Mediafire, however, doesn't like you. The file I downloaded from that link was just "The" with no extension or anything.

EDIT: eh, just rename it to "the.rar" and continue opening with winrar/7zip/whatever you use.

I'll try this now.

Eh, I have your maps in the engine, but how do I play those? How do I exactly know which game those two are for?

Merrel, you do have the original wads right? His wad consists of maps, but you still need the original game. Do you, Merrel?

Yeah, I have all of them.. I have the Doom Collector's Edition (via torrent) with like all the games, and I already tested each game with jdoom, and they work. I'm asking how you play the maps.

Also make sure you are using them in the right game, for I forgot to add, do not check the box unles you have selected the profile for the right game, otherwise Shared Settings will use this map pack for all the profiles, and might cause incompatibility issues. (that was not pointed at you, Merrel, it was a mere tip)

Nice guide...And Merrel WADs work much like the mods we use in StarCraft, they merely overwrite what already exists (of course you can add stuff too).

Also my new separate project is that of a survival map, where the John Romero Boss Demon Spawner will constantly spawn monsters and you must defend. V1 will include a small outpost surrounded by blood, V2 will likely include a whole city to explore and gather equipment.

Neither of you answered me. I have already achieved importing the map and checking it. Which DOOM are the two maps for?

Read the info on the map, right below the link to the download it says that it was tested in Doom2, so what would the obvious answer be?

lol okay, I wasn't sure if any of the other 5 addons I installed were interfering. Interesting map. I didn't have much time to play it today so I only got to the part where you eventually end back to the beginning and then the skeletons killed me. I'll have to finish it later.

Quiet now Deathman. Do not take for granted the tought that everyone knows a lot of stuff about this.

I take it you like my mapping format? I greatly enjoy turning every encounter into a boss-battle.
