A while back, a map making friend of mine showed me a map where unit building was instant, like instant upgrade instant. No build bar (for more than a few milliseconds, at least) and when you spammed the build button, they streamed out of there at a rate much higher than the closest to instant unit creation I've seen elsewhere. Is there a way to do this? Is there a way to detect a unit build in progress, stop that and make a unit of the same at the same spot, so that it appears as if it was instant, but in reality wasn't?
This has been irking me for a while, and I can't seem to find the map that he showed me, probably because it's several years old and lost in my old computers.
None.
Was it on a mac? I've heard that entering 0 as a build time for units doesn't crash on macs.

Nope, it wasn't on a Mac, at least on my end. I don't think he had a Mac either...

Build time of 1 in SCM Draft is 1/15th of the time of SE, but 0 crashes unless on a mac. Without using EUD conditions you can't detect units being built. You can stop the building by simply giving the building to someone else.

That's not how he did it then, 'cause you kept control of the building always.

How far back was this? EUD actions might have made it possible.

Falkoner is right: A build time of 1 in SCMDraft or SF would be the fastest you could get without any other trickery. Try that and see if it was any faster.
It's actually 1/5th
as long, not 1/15th
faster. It's 15 times faster.

It was close to, or more than 3 years ago. If it was EUD, then it was WAY early for that.
