I've realized that any map that says 'Snipers AI' vrs computers is usually cake.
I wanted to make a harder ai map with more realistic computers, so im going to try You will play a normal 2v2 snipers game on normal Bald Locks terrain, vrs 2 Computer players. I want the computers to things the average player would do in a game Things I believe I can make Dlocking - Already made Stancing - Already made Glitching - Already made Teamwork - Ex. vision a teammate that is hiding in middle. Rsing - Requires no work Flagging - taking a flag, and finding the best route to return it NLs- Already made Things I don't think I can do Angling - Only possible way would be several mobile grids, and even then it wouldnt be accurate enough to move them to the desired angle. Shs - I think its possible to get them to do Sh's, but they would be able to do them without ever seeing you. Opinions on this? I'll post Demos here and I would like feedback and criticism for things to change. ------ Dlocks Demo - Very effect way of having a computer 'dlock' you. However I have realized this will be very hard to put into a full map, so will probably only be added in base vision. Stances Demo - Easy way of having a sniper 'stance' you. Pretty easy to put into a map, I will have several spots of these. Dlock/Stance Combo - Combo of Dlock and stances made by Lazer, the downward pulls would be good if you get 2v1'd ----- Ai Triggering -Left side - 10% -Middle - 0% -Right - 0% Bottom Base - 5% Top Base - 0% Overall Map Progress -Terrain [Done] -Basic Playing Triggers [Done] -Basic Ai [2%] I would LOVE any feedback, questions, comments, or random thoughts. You can contact me on msn TheSarge799@hotmail.com or on b.net account ES-Tank Kind of hard to capture 'ai' in a screenshot.

Indeed, is this showing the AI using LoS and doodads to its advantage?
EDIT: Or just kicking your ass?

What's stancing? I don't play bald locks, but I'm interested in AI stuff.

Stancing - Standing still and locking as soon as the target gets into range. If you are moving when you lock, you have to stop before you shooting. If you already are stopped and lock at the right range, you shoot faster.
Dlock - Running away from an enemy just outside of range, moving towards him once and then locking right after, making you turn and shoot at the same time. Angle - *not proven* If your enemy is 1 unit space on the gunside of your ghost, it is believed that you will shoot before him. glitch - Standing in a spot where you can see your enemy, but he cannot see you NL - 'Noob lock' - locking an enemy from far away, and keeping lock until one of you are dead. Same basic sniper terms for you

you don't need to add EVERYTHING people can do, like shs.
And I'm glad to see your making a comp ai where the computer doesnt just attck to your flag, then run back(regardless if they have the flag or not). It definitely possible to do the things you want, and I hope you succeed. Also, I've played ALOT of snipers, but never hear any1 use the term dlock. I actually don't even see the advantage: scenario A: you're being chased out of range you right click to turn your sniper so that he is facing the enemy he turn around you click the enemy You shoot Scenario B: you are being chased out of range you click the enemy you turn around you shoot some people say angles are false, but I don't think there is even less to show for this dlocking. |

Sounds sick. Will be a killer map. I'm not familiar with most of these terms, though. What is Shs? And what does it mean to "lock" in general?

Locking is killing a foe when you have allied settings constantly on.

Sorry, but you are wrong. There is plenty of evidence (mainly created by me) proving that dlock does work. Download the dlock demo I have posted. Lock means push A + Click on an enemy while you are allied. SHS means 'Shift Hack Shot'. The idea is that, if you are facing an enemy when you lock them, you will shoot no matter what, even if you don't have vision. So if you shift towards them, and shift lock.. you will shoot without vis. If you go on youtube and search 'starcraft shs' you will probably find some videos of it. |
