Update 3/9/08 -- DLDB touch up

Through the last 3 days, the DLDB has been changing. Here's a list of what's changed:
  • Due to an old special friend of Staredit.Net, now our DLDB automatically makes map images and thumbnails. Most of the time. It needs some tweaking for bigger maps. If the map is huge enough, you might get an out of memory error. Check to see if your upload went through via "My Files" and either go on with your edits or reupload if it apparently does not exist. Also, it does not output start and resource locations. This will be added later. Also, there's an ability to generate such images from the map at any time. No need to reupload to get a generated image if you either delete the generated image or for a new fixed image when it's upgraded.
  • The portal system. Apply a specific category through out the DLDB. For example, select "Mods" and every page in the DLDB will display only Mod files or areas tailored to mod stats.
  • Browsing tweaks. You can add and remove tags while browsing to expand and narrow results easily.
  • SC version for mods.
  • Added "Status inapplicable" for when open/closed status doesn't make sense (ie: sound files)
  • Display and skin tweaks everywhere.
  • ... as well as some code/functionality tweaks everywhere
I still got a little bit of tweaking to do before moving on to another area... so more to come soon.

And major props to Corbo for uploading a bunch of cool mods. Huge files can be annoying to upload and he did a bunch of them. So yay :).

Relatively ancient and inactive

Awesome looking DB now. Although, I think we should kinda moderate what maps get uploaded. And upload moar maps. I didn't see Uberena on there!

I think not posting any name(s) is a good indicator he does not want you to know.

Or I don't know if he wants to be named. I have yet to ask him.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
