Not just here for the pie

One of the best, actually. Far better than the other early strategy-game attempts.

![]() Seems to you the thing to do would be to isolate the winner. Unless it doesn't, in which case never mind. |

I used to play it a lot!! I discovered that most people who play online are insanely good. I had fun but my turns took a bit as I micro-managed a lot. I still remember the game a year and a half ago that made me quit.... I had Vader on my Star Destroyer and plently of other protection and yet SOMEONE Skywalker sabotages it...bullshit! Supposedly it took the guy like 12 failed misssions, but I didn't stay in one place that long..but yae... I was kinda upset for a while.
The best part of that game is killing other people's heroes, invadertently or intentionally. Which side do you play moose? I prefer the Empire myself but played both. Me and my bro used to lan it up all the time on that game, and another close friend of mine. I haven't played in a while now though but it always all comes back !

What I've been doing is playing on Hard and giving the computer a 100-day head start (ie, I will do nothing) and simulating all battles.
I find it's a lot easier to play as the Rebels, just because of Sullustan Regiments. They are insanely cheap and have the best detection rating for a ground troop in the game. That thing ruins balance like no other, but I might just feel that way because of the way I play.

Yea well playing humans is totally different from playing computers as you might guess. I always played on the hardest setting too (hard is hardest right? It's been a while). I've got some websites for findign people that play Star Wars Rebellion--I'll have to look for the links later when I am at home and send them your way but maybe we can get a game going before then.
Sullustans have a pretty bad rating against bombardment as I remember, so yea there are ways around those defenses, unless you get a lot of static defenses on a planet, in which case their is always the death star or a really big fleet, or some very improved officer for the task. P.S. Have you ever gotten Luke to train others in the force before? I have done it once, and many times with Vader, very useful that training is :-). |

Yeah, I wrote down some stats before and after training.... they make such massive gains. ;o
I never really cared about bombardment ratings or defense ratings for troops. I always get 2 Gen Cores on every planet, so foiling the missions to take all those out is what matters most to me. Resource wise it kills you to build all those shields, but it's worth it in the long run. |

I think I would enjoy playing you as the Empire, too bad no time to really brush up and with my schedule it might take us a month to finish a full blown game. Basically my only reliable contact is my email which I check every day, I have skype, and aim and some otehr stuff...but don't use it that often. Could definitely use one though if we wanted to setup a game. And then there is b.net as well:

I used to play it a lot. I remember setting up blockades on the last 20 or so planets and then going afk for a few hours while the comp's resources drained to nothing and the vast majority of his ground units died. I always felt that the Empire had a head start manufacturing and unit wise, but the Alliance started out with better characters IMHO.
