So, for Christmas, I got StarCraft2 YAY! Well, actually it's both mine and my brother's to share, but it's still pretty frakin' sweet. So we were installing it when it froze at 88%. we restarted the installation twice and oth times it froze at 88%. I checked the technical support stuff on blizzard, google, blah blah blah. It's basically just a missing file or something, and my disc doesn't have the repair tool that Blizzard was talking about. I was just wondering if anyone could give m a file with the contents, or the repair tool. I'm going to run the installation again to find out what file it is that can't be read.

What version of what OS are you running?

Even though I have a PC, I believe my parents purchased a MAC version, but wouldn't the installation not work if that were so? the only file with Os on it is MacOS.

she/her

If shit hits the fan, you can just register the key for the game to your Battle.Net account and download the installer from Blizzard.
This sounds like the best option since there is actualyl something wrong with the disc.

Well, I have tried that, but blizzard won't send a varification e-mail. I mean, I've tried this twice.

I do stuff and thingies... Try widening and reducing the number of small nooks and crannies to correct the problem.

You can try to copy the whole dvd onto your disc and try it again (while downloading the installer from Blizzard like Sand Wraith said).

The needed OS should be printed on the box where the System requirements are or somewhere else on the box.

Quote
The installer was unable to read the file "Repack-MPQ\fileset.base#Mods#Liberty.SC2Mod#base.SC2Assets\Assets\Textures\planetview_charterrainspecular.dds". This error may be caused by problems with the media or drive at E:\--for example, a scratched or dirty CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, hard drive corruption, or a networking problem while downloading the installer. (The error code was 5.) If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (ReadJob::Execute)
This is the message it displayed when the installation froze.
EDIT:
All I need is one little .mpq file... Could someone plase find the file and tell me how to get it in the installation? I would do my cute, pleading look, but... I don't have a @%#&ing CAMERA!

You can try to ask your parents to refund the game for the pc version...

Another solution would be to get the installer from the site.

I need a b.net account for the digital download, but the won't send the confirmation e-mail, even though I tried twice. I'll just settle for :sc1: and the :sc2: demo, an wait for tomarrow to return the disc. And, aparently my disc is for windows XP, 7, and MAC. It's a shame it doesn't have the repair tool, not even for the mac part (MacOS). BUT, I would like a solution today, bu that doesn't mean I'm expecting one.
EDIT:
Ok, I just found my confirmation e-mail... in JUNK! Anyways, it says the Authentication key can not be claimed, what's that about?
