Secret mission and Protoss levels

This thread is basically some advice for those playing through the SC2 campaign for the first time. When you get to the end section of the game, you are warned that if you choose to continue, you will not be able to visit any other planets or missions that you haven't already done. Once you complete the campaign, you can freely replay levels you have previously beaten, but you are unable to visit new levels.

This includes the secret mission which is unlocked on the level Media Blitz - in the south-east corner of the map, there is an SC1-style Science Facility that when destroyed will unlock the secret level.

For the protoss levels, at least one person in these forums wasn't aware that there are actually 4 protoss levels available, because this is not entirely obvious within the game itself. After you finish the first mission, simply click on the crystal to get to the later ones.

If you fail to access the secret mission or the protoss levels and you finish the campaign, the only way to get access back to these levels is to start a new campaign. It took me about 2 hours of playing from the start of a new campaign, using the godmode cheat, to unlock the secret mission, so it's better to do it on the first play through.

Further discussion on the secret mission - mild spoilers

Thanks for warning us! I haven't started the campaign yet, so I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Uhh... currently I'm stuck at the last Protoss mission on brutal. My base was already being overrun when the void rays came... not even 500 kills... such a shame.
Anyone got tips for that mission on brutal? Should I focus air or ground? Problem is I don't get anti-ground air units in time... Cannons?

Praetor

Is it possible to get to the secret mission through the Galaxy Editor?

EDIT: Yup, THorner05S.

Step 1: make a wall of DTs at the choke points.
Step 2: save before every wave
Step 3: If they bring a detector load and snipe it with pheonixes or something
Step 4: lol at the carnage

The same strat applies to the nydus worms

Thanks, I shall try.

IIRC from my hard run nyduses are popping all over the base, how should I block choke points?

EDIT:
Wing, is it possible you have switched to a lighter tone of blue? Because funnily I've wondered the other day if I should tell you that I can hardly read the dark blue you had before. Unless there's something with my eyes? O.o

You make the DTs at the choke hold position. Since you save every wave you should know what they send and where they send it so when you load move your force there and problem solved.

No I didn't change the tone of blue since no one complained about it before, it looks a lot better on a darker background though.

Wow, cheap saving and loading so you have 'advanced knowledge' of where to put things. Why even bother playing?

For the Nyduses that pop up, there is a bit of a warning from the voice before they arrive (unless they're much more frequent in Brutal)? So just have your units ready where they are. They generally only spew up zerglings and a few hydras and roaches so they're pretty easy to take down quickly.
