Tactical Defense


Just an idea I had been toying with and finnaly decided to make it happen!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Concept
The idea is to create a pvp style defense, where you can upgrade, and build up a "wave" to use against your enemy.

8 Human Player
Player 9 Comp
Player 10 Comp


-Defense Unit Spawn Menu
-Offense Unit Spawn Menu
-Money System
-Upgrade System (allows more advanced units to be spawned)
-Wave Hold (until wave is launched the units are stored here)
-Cool Looking Terrain Title :lol:

Archon 15 Requires: Cybernetics, Electric Weaonry

Hydralisk 10 Requires: Genetic Research

Infested Kerrigan 40 Requires: Genetic Research, Biological Weaponry, Electric Weaponry

I've played several Defense maps that use the same concept (and quite a few of those features you listed). The wave hold sounds pretty cool though, so I hope this map turns out well.

well while I am waiting for Confederate beta test results to come in for my mod ill come back to this. Time to get to work on putting together my offense units.

so its kinda like tug-o-war,u should make it like u have 2 minutes or whatever to build a defense with like sunks or cannons or something to defend their base so its not exactly like a tug-o-war map

2 minutes? thats a bit too short isnt it? besides, on your map death on the defence area theres a line in the middle, is that so team 1 cant goto to team 2 and team 2 cant goto team 1? A good idea to have is that, if you havent made it already, to have like the ability to get heroes or something. Like in the holding area 2 marines= a jimmy for like 50 minerals or something. Just like a little square in the holding that does that would be nice.

why thank you =) its a nice map so far. :D Maybe you should make it for all the basic ground units for zerg terran and toss ..? :dontgetit: cuz air would seem alittle unfair... and maybe put the cost of the basic unit to make the hero?
for example: a marine is 50 minerals, so 2 marines + 50 minerals = jimmy or something, or with gols and etc.

So ground units cant pass the line in the center? only air? instead of making a trigger, why not make it like water or something? If you havent already... :|

The line in the middle going horizontally is walkable, the vertical middle line is not.

With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort
