I need help fixing this lag, I have tried everything from port forwarding both the router and dsl modem to no avail. Also tried enabling DMZ and DNS which still did not fix my 2 or more other people in game = lag problem.
Someone please help me I want to play a good game of starcraft already, lol.
Linksys WRT54G Router
EMBARQ 660 series DSL modem
ISP: EMBARQ DSL
btw I can play a game of single player or 1 vs 1 perfectly fine with no lag, And when I go into game lobby only the host can see text i write. !?!

None.
Same thing happens to we when I play SC on my school's connection.
well I tested it yesterday by bypassing my router and plugging the computer straight into the modem. It is indeed the modem that is causing all this lag. I guess im going to look for filter ident now.
None.
hey do you guys use dynamic DNS on your internet modems???

Filter IDENT is on your security tab of your router Make sure it is checkmarked

No I do not

ok, I enabled Filter IDENT on my router but I dont think it is my router that is causing the lag.
It must be something to do with the 660 modem I have...
testing SC again..
ok SC still lags no visible difference from before i enabled filter IDENT.
I think it might be the modem that is causing all this lag not the router.. any more ideas???

if its just starcraft its probably some config setting somewhere but if its a problem all around like (ie web surfing) then it can be phone lines, damaged modem.
I don't believe it to be a modem problem though...

yes it is only lag when i play starcraft.
the specific problems include, only being able to chat with host when i join a game, And when the game starts if there are more than 2 players in it(including me) it will lag like no tomorrow.
i really want to get this fixed already
NEW EDIT!!
the lag is fixed!!! I figured out I had to leave the
DSL modem in bridge mode for about 50-60 minutes so the
router could assign new MAC addresses to all the computers in the network.
yay starcraft games!
