Just curious if there is any airsoft players around here and no I'm not talking about collecting crapsoft walmart garbage or dollar store kids shit and running around your backyard with safety glasses >_>.

Keep in mind my collection is Canadian based and our airsoft costs 3x or 4x the prices US, Europe, HK, or Japan would pay.

I had quite a few low quality airsoft guns, and one 1:1 high quality replica of a P99, but I was never willing to invest the unreasonable amount of money most good guns cost. I'd much rather spend it on my computer. Also, I live in the middle of nowhere and so there was no one to really play with anyway.

I do really miss the P99 I had, it was fantastic.

I'm assuming your guns aren't traditional spring as that falls under 'cheap', so are they CO2 or green gas or ???

p99? Cheap brand springer lol. My airsoft are all AEGs (Automatic Electric Gun) but my 1911 is green gas aka propane.

But lol at traditional springer, traditional typical are AEGs.

I used to play quite a bit in high school. Then everyone left for college. I never had a lot of guns and I was always behind my friends in terms of performance. When I started, I got a pistol, they had rifles, I got a rifle, they got automatics. Tons of fun though. We wore glasses anyway.

Brand of airsoft you used? What fields did you play at?

I have a H&K USP springer for shooting cans and the like. Would love to be wealthy enough to buy a King Arms FN FAL carbine, but I have more important things to spend money on.

Do they have this but in a ridiculous fashion? Like Airsoft Gatling? Grenades? 50 cal? Rocket launcher? Airsoft knife?

I think paintball has paint grenades amirite. Can this be a "Air soft general". I would very much like to see the depth of airsoft-ness.

I don't remember the brands right now and they are at home so I can't check. We usually played on a friend of a friend's farm or in someones backyard. Mad fun too. We'd play with medics too so you'd have to chug a bottle of water before you were healed and could get up and play again.

They have all of those I believe. Some of which are custom made, but you can get bayonets and grenades I think pretty easy.

It was a good gun, high quality materials as well. I've had the cheap plastics too, so I know the difference. I must've put over 10k rounds through the thing over the course of three years and it never so much as jammed.

For your average user, a spring is traditional. For someone like you AEGs have become a standard. Its like me calling my Core i7 standard for a computer, it's silly and the only reason it'd make sense to me is because of my interest in tech.

Yes there are 2 brands I know Classic army and Echo1 make Gatling guns, and yes Tornado grenades and impact grenades rock, and yes M72 LAW

Facepalm... Unless your living in Canada, Korea, or Israel I can understand you might be paying around an i7 price for a low-mid range AEG, but In most countries where airsoft is available your I7 price would get you nice ICS FMU M4 but you could buy a nice cheap JG Mp5 for 150 or even more cheap Cyma AK47 for 100$.

A good quality bolt-action spring rifle (maybe with an upgraded spring) is a good airsoft weapon. AEGs are the best all-around, obviously, but not everyone has so much money to spend on a hobby.

WMK, mind showing me some good US sites to get a decent AEG from? A rundown of the usual brands and whats good/what isn't would be nice as well.

I'd also appreciate some info on if everything uses 6mm or if any actually use something else, if BB brand matters, and differences between using .12 or .2 (obviously besides the weight).

Most of my friends and I got our stuff from Airsplat.com, I can't really tell you what brands are good, but that site has guns ranging from $10 to over $1000 so there is something for you. What I have noticed is that the hop up on guns doesn't affect the .2 bbs as much as the .12s. My AK for example pretty much only can use .2s because the .12s fly up so much and you can't aim for crap, even when I turn the hop up down.

Yeah, heavier BBs are better in general. More stable in flight so they're more accurate.

It's the equivalent of $300-400 for a halfway decent AEG in the UK. Bloody tax.

Sadly living in Canada I do not know any good US sites for AEGS since I can not buy from states (Canada replia law and blah blah and liberals) I bought from Airsoft Atlanta once but duty tax raped me but fast shipping and ehobby airsoft is dirt cheap if u buy in bulk but slow shipping.

If you want a good AEG, I think you should head out to a local field try to rent some AEGS see what you like and ask around. Depends on your playing style, do you spray and pray like me and like to die alot then get a MP5 or Mac 11 GBB, or r u lazy and scared to die then get a regular M16, G36, or M14 and upgrade and then you can hit like a charm from 150 feet.

Most of my airsoft is from other sources, since Canada has problems. Cough Smuggled I think from someone ....
