What about colored text?
Strings are in GameStrings.txt somewhere in blizzard's mess of MPQs.
Colors are done like this <c val="hexcode">whatever</c>
<n/> makes you start a new line.

There should also be bold formatting and probably italic but I don't find them xC

fuck you all

a crappy radeon hd 3450 256mb ddr2 + 4gb ddr2 800, 3ghz athlon x2 64 can run the game on low with processor handled stuff on medium aswell as the models for individual death animation and 3d portraits on with the only slowdown ive seen was during a nuke, and i was in a 2 mothership, ffa battle with id say around 350 supply total of units fighting with solid FPS; the game really looks beautiful on ultra but it still looks okay on low

Oh, very nice, Heinermann... Where'd you find that out? Is there a list of all Variables somewhere or something? It'd be handy for Tech Support if you don't mind, ;P.
It's in the EXE. Havn't made a list.

Quote from Sixen
Also, if you don't mind me asking, where can we run triggers from? The only thing i've found is the Galaxy Files, which would be for the Local user only. Any info in that regard, or is that what you did as well?
I don't understand? The Galaxy files are used for computer AI and map script(triggers). It is global and applies to all players.

All i'm seeing in the EXE are Unknowns, which all appear to be PNG's.

Oh? So if I edit a Galaxy file, the triggers i've created should be displayed to all players then?

I added a TriggerDebugOutput to Map Init and it only displays when I play against AI, only to me, not my partner. They have the normal, unedited set of Galaxy Files, no?

They should have the same map. You obviously don't know what you're doing. There are no PNGs in the EXE. The EXE contains x86 instructions that execute the game's code. Obviously games must be synced if all players are to receive whatever message, that means you must redistribute the map.

Made a custom Zerg AI: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/733696/HeinZergAI.zip
Put them in your maps folder and use the launcher to play.

Hrm? I just opened the executable with an MPQViewer -- it showed me all of the files in it's archive. They were all Unknowns, which ended up being PNG's.

Anyway, how am I supposed to be able to play your maps; the Beta only allows for Blizzard Maps currently. I placed the .sc2map files within my Documents\Starcraft II Beta\Maps\ folder and they won't show up in-game... So, hm?

Also, I thought having the files in the folder overrides what you have in the map itself? Meaning, if I have the galaxy files in my directory, it should override any triggers, etc you have in your maps. Yes?

No, maps have more priority than the MPQs/files. They are loaded last.

Also, AI worked just fine, though, I don't know if it was meant to be that way but it kept spamming me all the actions the computer was doing?

So, do we have answers yet regarding the player limit? I assume that you can do up to 16 in UMS, and 8 in melee, with up to 8 more observers, but I'm not sure, I'm torrenting it right now.

So, there's three ways to do this, yes? Editing the Map Galaxy files, editing the files in the correct places within our SC2 Dir, and editing/repacking the MPQ?

Hrm? I thought it was supposed to be a separate map? We're just supposed to play a random map against AI?

It doesn't really work like that. It's more like War3. Either you have Ladder games (1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, or FFA) or Custom Games. But yes, Custom Games can hold 16 players. Custom Games can be either Melee or UMS, similar to War3. Basically, it's just a non-ranked map.

Indeed. And with the other 16 as computers ;)

How are the tilesets done? Are there just several images that you replaced?

You can either replace or you can change the assets name a tileset will load so you don't have to replace files. Assuming that via the editor you could load "added" tilesets there's no real reason to replace anything at all. You can add a new tileset and its textures/models information very easily so custom tilesets are a possibility but as for now, since there's no real way of making a map with such tileset I just replaced an old one.
Had to create diffuse maps, normal maps, bumps and cliffs require specular maps too, though, my lappy can't run SC on ultra so I get to see nothing but textures in low quality :( not even a bit of bump.

fuck you all

Hello

I love this tileset, seriously, first I thought it was made by blizzard but then read that it was made by your. Respect.

Oh_Man -- whereas just "press X to get 50 health back" is pretty mindless

Oh_Man -- because it adds anotherr level of player decision-making where u dont wanna walk too far away from the medic or u lose healing value

Oh_Man -- initially I thought it was weird why is he still using the basic pre-EUD medic healing system, but it's actually genius

Vrael shouted: I almost had a heart attack just thinking about calculating all the offsets it would take to do that kind of stuff
With the modern EUD editors, I don't think they're calculating nearly as many offsets as you might imagine. Still some fancy ass work that I'm sure took a ton of effort

Oh_Man -- definitely EUD
