StarCraft is the one game I have a problem with in Vista. I've never seen anything like this problem before, and any screenshots I take show StarCraft running fine (it doesn't show the problem). Anyway, the left side of the screen (and the left side only) has a number of horizontal black lines flickering on and off, and a black box up in the upper left corner flickering as well. I don't think it has anything to do with my widescreen monitor because it only stretched the image in XP. I'm running the 169.25 drivers with my 8800 GTX. I know I could upgrade to the recently released 175.16 drivers, but I doubt that it would make a difference (and the 175.16 drivers make Lord of the Rings Online crash when alt-tabbing out). I've also tried running StarCraft in a number of compatibility settings to no avail.

Actually that does sound like a driver problem if anything. If you don't want to go with the latest, just go with some newer drivers rather than the absolute latest.
Apparently there are some problems with widescreen, nvidia drivers, and Starcraft:

That link only deals with the ratio, which I don't care about. I'm not bothered by having it stretch. I'm just bothered by the flickering black lines and box in the corner.

He's saying that the problem is probably caused by the drivers. Try the solution provided anyway, see if it works.
