Now I'm just curious if this could be done...definitely difficult i reckon, since you can't randomize terrain at all in SC...but I did see a 'random maze generator' back in maplantis. So, anybody can tell me, theoretically, what could be done to create a 'random dungeon' style game like Rogue or Diablo?

Play my map The Dark Cave, and apply the technique used on random maze generator. Bingo.
(Actually I was planning on having the map be mildly random, but I decided against finishing it.)

Lifted buildings with cloaked units underneath them makes pretty neat looking quasi-terrain.

Got a screen shot of the lifted buildings/cloaked units? I don't understand what you mean.

You have a lifted Command Center in a Location, and underneath the Comand Center you have Dark Templars. You won't be able to walk through it.

I'm working on a map, and there are multiple(20) sections that are playable in the map. I randomize it so that not all the sections are used in a game, but the player will arrive at a random room that has not been used already. Basically, you could make multiple dungeons.

Lifted disabled (so unclickable) command centers with dt's beneath them.

The Dark Cave.scx
Yeah, my screen shot devices seem to be lagging my computer for some reason, heres one I could do.
(user posted image) This was part of the town, although the cave only has one part to it. (I should probably work on this more...)
I would suggest looking at the map to get a better understanding of what it's like.

Looks good.
@inferno
Me and moogle came up witha s imilar idea a while back, having an entire space-base made up of rectangular terrain [space of platform, nothing else] and structures, it really looked good, Factories when aligned right look great.

I'm sure people have thought this stuff up before, nonetheless, Rantent made purty picturz.

How'd you get the buildings to cloak? Did you disable them?

Yeah, disable the building, then give it to another player without vision.

I made the exterior of my space station with buildings.
I would show you, but I can't take any screens from in game.

You can have preplaced maze of paths and crossroads with lots of redundant paths. Then you're randomly closeing some paths with units (minerals/buildings and such).

AfterLifeLochie -- If we were to create a peice of code that creates an index, we could then assign a label to each 'area' it finds. Unfortunatley, I see what you mean: this would be impractical.
