Outside of the cafe, there is a space enclosed by a small fence, within which several tables and chairs are set up. There are some patrons sitting around the tables. This area has a clear view of the street around it, lined with stores.
A 20-year old, green-eyed woman, Parsee Mizu, is reading a book. She has a cup beside her.
CLOSE UP: BOOK
The book is The Tragedy of Othello, the Moor of Venice by William Shakespeare.
Reveal a faint smile on Parsee's face.
She looks up at the setting sun. Then, she looks across the street. There, she sees her boyfriend, 24-year old MUSTAFA SA'EED, idling on a bench. He is unaware of Parsee.
Her smile broadens and she makes as if to get up from her seat and invite him over.
As she is about to shout for him, he stands up and turns to greet another woman, 22-year old MIMI FLOREL.
Parsee's smile begins to fade.
As Mustafa and Mimi hug, Parsee sits back down, her smile gone now.
All of a sudden, Mustafa and Mimi French kiss each other.
At this point, Parsee is glaring at the two.
BLACK
A clap of thunder is heard.
The sound of a male's scream, which ends abruptly and gutturally, is followed by a series of grisly chopping sounds.
The sound of rain begins, lightly. Then, the sound of heavy, pouring rain.
Again, a clap of thunder.
EXT. STREET - MIDNIGHT
The deserted city street, flanked by residential homes, is lit by sparse lights.
Parsee is drenched and walking towards us through the rain in the middle of the street. She is holding a large, kitchen knife. Blood is splattered across her shirt, although it is already being washed out by the rain.
She stops directly underneath a light.
POV: PARSEE
Parsee raises her knife slightly and looks down so that she can see her reflection in the steel blade, tinted red with blood.
CLOSE UP: KNIFE
We see the red tinge of the blade being washed away by the heavy rain, revealing the reflection of Parsee's green eyes. Her pupils contract into pinpricks.
PULL BACK
Parsee looks up at the black sky, unflinching despite the downpour. She drops the knife with a clatter. She follows suit, collapsing to her knees and then slowly lying down with her back to the ground.
POV: LIGHT OVER PARSEE, LOOKING DOWN
Another clap of thunder is heard. Simultaneously, the light flickers, briefly sending the scene into darkness.
When the light returns, CLOSE ON Parsee's eye. ZOOM ON her contracted iris and continue until BLACK.
A glass fragment appears in the centre of the darkness and approaches, spinning slowly.
As it closes in, we can see that reflected in it is...
EXT. HOUSE - LATER
The door to a house. It is still raining hard. A lamp is on beside the door.
POV: PARSEE
In the reflection of the now large fragment, we see Parsee's hand, holding the knife, reach for the doorbell and push it.
The glass shard engulfs the screen, just as Mimi hesitantly opens the door.
She looks at Parsee questioningly. She notices her knife and her eyes widen as she tries to shut the door.
Parsee thrusts out her free hand and slams the door open.
Mimi reflexively steps back and narrowly avoids being clipped by the door.
INT. HOUSE - CONTINUOUS
We see Mimi with her back to us and Parsee in the doorway. We cannot see her eyes, as they are obscured by her hair.
Suddenly, Mimi hunches over as Parsee advances.
Mimi crashes into the side of the wall. Her silhouette has a knife protruding from her belly. She falls on her side, dead.
Parsee stands still for some time, simply staring at the corpse. Then, she leaves, closing the door behind her.

EXT. STREET - LATER
Parsee is walking through a residential area. By now, the rain has stopped.
EXT. BRIDGE - BORDER BETWEEN TWILIGHT AND SUNRISE
The large bridge connects the two parts of the city. It overlooks a river and is high enough such that if one were to fall from the bridge, they would most certainly die.
Parsee is sitting on the railing that prevents people from falling into the river, dangling her legs over the water.
She is looking into the sunrise with a faint smile.
Parsee then looks down at the river. As she does so, the distinct wailing of police sirencs can be heard, quietly, from some distant part of the city.
Her smile broadens slightly.
Parsee jumps off the railing into the river below.
