Planetary Fortress Rush
PF - PFort - CCFort - CC Rush - CC Noob (Just some slang i came up with :D)
Strength against rushing goes - Easiest - Hardest (Zerg - Terran Protoss) (Arguable)

It is so easy to counter a cc rush just scout and micro well, read only if your a lower tier player who has trouble countering PF rush

Most important tip

- Remember to scout (before 2 minute mark at least)
This helps you know that they might be rushing as huge indicators may be that they don't have a Rax

Regular Pump Counter

- This might mean they are making proxy if you scout around (prefably around the zel naga watchtowers and they don't have one then you should start to double rax/gate, pump lots of rines/hydras/stalker to shoot the cc and make sure it never lands when scvs come out don't try to stop and shoot always move the units under the cc while shooting the scvs if you caught the rush early enough then you should have enough units to take care of the scvs in the CC when they drop it, sometimes they might bring a rax, you should focus mainly on the cc while also making sure the rax doesn't drop if it does then you should have enough units to kill the threat

Early Tech Counters

- Some ways to counter this is to just try and early tech to repears into banshee
- Corrupters might seem like the perfect anti air counter but there slow and zerg takes forever to get it some its just wiser to stick to hydras rather then wasting your resources unless you were already planning something like this but since the slime is un-landable to Terran then you just need to micro properly and you should be fine
- Void rays are a good counter to a cc rush only if the tech was close enough but otherwise its a stupid decision since stalkers are enough to take out a cc

This works better verses Protoss because Terran can lift off and Zerg have creep...

This will probably work in Copper... and Bronze. Most likely not Silver or above (even though Silver-Gold are D-/D)

A Planetary Fortress rush is not a viable strategy, so theres no real reasons to discuss counters to it. This kind of play only really existed early in the beta when people did not know to expect and will only work in the lowest tiers of play. If you are actually getting beaten by a PF rush into your base, you need to learn to macro and scout.

It's not lower tier. It's for people who can't play. Period.

This rush is actualyl ridiculously strong on maps like desert oasis, LT (12 vs 3/6 vs 9) where the flying distances are short. Almost always the other player (as long as hes not zerg) will panic and die.

Just don't let it land. When you see his CC flying, move your probe right under it.
