File Description
Risk-style strategy map.

Initially created by UED_Admiral sometime before 2009. Updated around that time by Mr.Brightside. This version is fully retriggered and updated with two new 300-cost bases for additional strategic options. A full change list is not available, but if you want one feel free to message the person who uploaded this map.

Thanks to Falkoner and Payne for their terrain compilations and brushes, which helped make the map a lot prettier. Thanks to various friends for extensive balance testing (ongoing).

The basics:
  • All players start at the bottom-right corner of the map and must immediately move to secure a base of their choosing.
  • Upgrade your base's spawn with supply depots.
  • Get kills to increase your mineral income
  • Keep your civ alive or you lose.
  • You can buy as many bases as you want, once you have the money.

Bases tend to match up against each other along rock-paper-scissors lines. If you've never played before, don't worry too much about it, and try not to get salty if you lose.

Changelog
  • V.1.01 (8/13/2017, 6:23PM MST):
    • Dwarven Warrior (Protoss Archon) shields and health swapped; was 275/400, now 400/275.
  • V.1.02 (8/14/2017, 11:23AM MST):
    • Lost Temple spawn revised.
    • Lost Temple cost lowered to 150.
    • Max army size set to 400 men. (To deal with CCMU endgame balance issues.)
  • V.1.02 (8/14/2017, 12:33PM MST):
    • Renamed Oakton Longbows to Oakton Huntresses.
    • Changed Oakton zero-castle spawn to spawn a normal longbow instead of a Huntress.
  • V.1.03 (9/11/2017, 3:54PM CST):
    • Quite a few undocumented changes. Mostly small balance issues, some larger features.
    • Neutral structures are now invincible until purchased. (This addresses a long-standing base-killing exploit which our playgroup was reluctant to alter, for reasons too complex for a changelog.)

O)FaRTy1billion[MM] -- below the minimap should be a thing that says "Overlay Settings" with a little + button in the corner, press the + to expand it, uncheck Use Defaults, then change "Tile Overlay" to "Height"

Sylph-Of-Space -- It would be so so so nice if SCMDraft had some kind of dedicated "walkability" view for the tilesets.
