Cooperative - You assist others, and/or acquire assistance from others. As being cooperative: you share, assist, etc. to others. For example, in video games there are two or more companies, where one develops, the other assists them in publishing (Or more companies assisting in developing), usually something like Microsoft, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, or Nintendo assist smaller companies by publishing and advertising.
Competitive - You compete against others, and have a tendency to try to be better than others through rivalry. As being competitive: you try harder, learn from others and be better, etc. against others. For example, it is common to see Pepsi vs Coca Cola, Family Guy vs Simpsons vs South Park, Burger King vs McDonalds, United States vs Soviet Union/NATO vs Warsaw Pact, Microsoft vs Apple vs Nintendo, Microsoft vs Sony, Yahoo vs Hotmail, Google vs Yahoo vs Ask, etc.
Isolated - You are at your own league, and you improve yourself without any cooperation or competition. As being isolated: you improve youself, learn from self mistakes, try to succeed than fail by yourself. For example, Blizzard Entertainment supported itself during the 90s, and made their WarCraft, Diablo, and StarCraft franchises popular and being on top without much (or any) cooperation (WIth some exceptions like Vivendi and Activision) with other companies or competition against others.
