Objective

My main intention behind this map is to implement a new advanced battle system. There is no storyline. The objective is to reach all 9 checkpoints each located in a different part of the map.

Ideas

Players choose their unit at the start of the game. Each unit can advance in levels by killing enemies. Each increase in level gives the unit a new or upgraded ability.

Abilities

% Estates = Gain % money from each kill
% Bloodrage = % chance to instantly kill another unit from each kill
% Shield = % chance to regenerate shields from each kill
% Heal = % chance to heal from each kill
% Mana Regenerate = % chance to regenerate mana from each kill
% Corrupt = % chance to downgrade enemy weapons from each kill
% Vitality = % chace to heal allies from each kill
% Morph = % chance to morph enemies from each kill

No storyline? Just go and kill? This may be just a personal opinion, but at least add some goal maybe, even if it's cheesey? Any boss fights? Maybe put a boss at the end, and you need to get to him because he killed your wife or something, anything will do I think.

think about the general battle.netter's attention span, then think about how no story will work wonders on popularity.

I agree, even a bad storyline is better than no storyline at all. I'd rather have something like this dark lord destroyed your village [ which you never learn more about ;( ] than you just popped up naked in the middle of a jungle.

although i agree, having no story may support popularity

Why? SEN is perfect, why would you wanna look any further? :shifty: *strange cult noises in the background*

Ultraviolet -- Well actually it looks like Team Liquid still has a Brood War forum, but they're heavily melee focused

Ultraviolet -- Was gonna say Team Liquid, but it seems even they have moved on from SC:BW. Was going to respond to your thread, but wasn't sure exactly what to say. I don't agree with all your ideas about volcano run, but I like that you're thinking about improving upon the idea
