SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

Yeah delaying it will probably cause the same issue.
What triggers are you using for this? It may be possible that the Ursadon's animation is left running too long sometimes or facing a certain direction.

Assuming Starcraft uses 16 directional GRP frames (2 frames each facing), *2 for image mirroring, then
For the number of directional values per facing (in direction randomization): 256/32 = 8
For the percentage of the chance the unit's frame is one specific directional frame: (8/256)*100 = 3.125%

Dec 3 2011, 7:56 pm Lanthanide Post #102

That might be it, then.

The triggers are essentially:
- Create ursadon and disable it
- Next trigger cycle: Re-enable it and order to move to clear the crashy frame
- Next trigger cycle: Move to my storage location of pre-cloaked ursadons for later use

So I guess very occasionally it's simply created with the wrong frame. It'll be quite trivial to add an action to order it to move in a certain direction before disabling it. Since I gather there are 8 frames for any direction, the trick is going to be working out which direction has 8 safe frames. But probably if there is only 1 crashing frame, my chances of choosing that crashing direction will be quite low.

Ok my version of starcraft is old, 1.04. I made a map, where I used pale green as a player color, and pisonic storm sprites for special effects, my map crashed when I tried to play it. I removed the sprite and changed the color. Was it the sprite or the color causeing the crash? Is this because of this older version of sc?
I use stardraft 2.0. Is like the sprites to be in the map...Idk if anyone else has had this issue.

SDE, BWAPI owner, hacker.

Firstly, pale green is not a colour. There is only green(p9) and teal(p3). I would strongly encourage that you use standard colours to ensure the map remains bug-free (flag portrait crash for example), and consistent (may be a different colour on different systems/versions).
I would say it is the sprite that causes the crash, but not 100% sure.

Jan 4 2012, 8:09 pm Pr0nogo Post #105

Nobody has likely had that issue because nobody plays on 1.04. You should upgrade to 1.16.1, or at the very least, 1.15.1b (or whatever that version was called), and see if it still crashes.

We can't explain the universe, just describe it; and we don't know whether our theories are true, we just know they're not wrong. >Harald Lesch

Psi storm sprites crash the map. As do most animated weapon or spell sprites. ScmDraft allows you a lot of things that crash StarCraft so you gotta know what you're doing if you're using more than Staredit would allow.
We offer a ton of information about what's possible and what isn't so I recommend you browse our forums a bit.

A good place to start would be here.
Specific information about your problem can be found here.

I installed the newest patch. Helped when testing a few functions. I removed the sprite everythings fine. Question answerd.

Emulating SC with Wine on a GNU/Linux Guest OS within a VM under Mac OS X.

It works fine until I try to connect to battle.net, when it crashes immediately after displaying "Connecting to Battle.Net..."

Wine Output

.ERR

Could you tell me generally what it's trying to do before it crashes?

It's crashing in a Storm function called SBltRop3, I am not sure what the error is, but try testing it with DEP disabled.

Looks like an invalid command. Not sure what was going on here. Were you using a hack (A hack includes ChaosLauncher, Firegraft, and other hacks)?
Possibly something about saving an invalid replay action sent by Player 4 (Storm).

Hey all! Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am using StarForge as an editor on Windows 7. I am well underway on creating a Settlers of Catan map and I can't even test it. When I start the map in Starcraft to test it I get this error and Starcraft crashes. I have heard good and bad about Starforge and am considering using another editor, but I don't want to lose the work I have done.

Crashes when: Divided by 0.
Fix: Create a case for when the denominator value is 0.
Is it so hard to look this stuff up? A building you're using has 0 somewhere in a denominator.

This happen every time using Protoss Dark Archon to capture Terran SCV. It does not happen immediately but after some then the error occur. I am playing melee.

This is an AI issue. Something about a NULL AI town pointer.
The trigger is the wait_build opcode as the AIScript thread is being executed.
I get the exact same error address (00432330) with the exact same code bytes. My circumstances are the same -- Protoss Dark Archon has captured a terran SCV some time ago, and player has started to create terran buildings. If I load a particular save game, this crash will occur every time at a fixed amount of time after the save, if no actions are taken by the player. In some rare cases, moving a few units will prevent the crash, but it will crash under a different code (0x004344B4) a very short time later.

I believe that I am at or very near the map max number of units. It is a 7v1 use map settings game with 50k resources where player is protoss vs 4 zerg and 3 terran. All computer players are triggered to play their proper race (expansion) at a location that encompasses their start position, hatchery/nexus, four probes/drones, surrounding resources, and a small amount of buildable space.

Perhaps some building or add-on is failing to build due to map max, and this confuses the AI in some way.

I should probably add that the map/scenario was built in basic StarEdit. No third party starcraft-editing tools were used or are installed on the computer in question.

This thread is for crashes of StarCraft itself, not for editors. So you should attach StarCraft's crash dump and error message.

Ok. When SC crashes, where is the crash log saved? I will post that as well.
Thanks in Advance man!

Here is the Crash file saved in the errors folder. The funny thing is, it crashes sometimes, and sometimes it doesnt. Very hard for me to narrow it down. Here it is anyways.
