Yeah, laning against pebbles is extremely fun with him. If you clear their creeps, hit it and chase him, and he goes form 100% to 50% hp in a very short time span.

I've been playing Torturer a decent bit lately. What's worth noting is that early game, physical damage is more powerful than magical damage for all except a very few heroes. So assuming you can run along with someone, every single spike hits them... 1200 physical damage at level 7. In a rune race, or if you meet someone in the jungle? And obviously taking a tower down half health by yourself in 8 seconds isn't anything to laugh about, and with his nuke+stun he can instantly wipe creep waves. Best pusher in the game, to me. (Especially with the Ophelia nerf =( ... )
Pretty convincing. However, 1200 at LVL7 doesn't seem so much considering the probability of hitting the hero with a single spike is quite small. The area of the enemy's size-thing/"footprint" is only so much within the area that Torturer's second ability affects. It still feels like a push-ability than a killing one, though I could see that being used in synergy with a slowing ability to really rape someone.
It'll be something to look into. I think I might try a stun/spikes or bonds/spikes combo some day. Bonds/spike would make for some heavy harassment, IMO (though stun/bonds feels like the killing combo).
Stun/bonds doesnt really work all that well for killing. Actually, except for his ulti, most of his abilities aren't made for killing. Bonds works as a harass and now a positioning tool. Stun works as well, a stun. His spikes work as a pushing mechanism, and in certain situations, a huge killing mechanism.
I go Stun/spikes. Allows for maybe an early kill if they run away from creeps, and you can push the first tower down easily, giving your team a slight gold advantage.

There's no fog of war anymore though.

Wow this new interface is all dandy and stuff, but it broke HoN for me.
I made the mistake clicking on auto joining channel SEN. Now I can't connect to the chat server (yeah we all know this dreaded bug) but I can't even join or create games.
And since I can't join channel SEN I can't undo the checkmark. WTF? Fail...
I'll see if reinstalling does any good...
Just here for the activity... well not really
Disable all mods?

There's no fog of war for prepaid players, but there is for vanilla beta testers? I hope that's not the case. That would ruin the game.

Your problem is that you misunderstand the skill's mechanics. It's not like Glacius's ultimate in that it hits a random location within the AoE. It hits a random TARGET within the AoE. So even if the radius was the entire map, if it was only you and an opponent alive every single spike would hit him. This also means that by properly positioning yourself near a tower during a creep fight, you can impale the tower 100%, not aggro it, and still last hit. He's very underused, to me.
I personally get his ultimate at 14/15/16, that tends to be about when I finish SacStone and can actually tank a bit.
S2 isn't going to do anything stupid like imbalance the game for paid players. Be sure you disable mods, they WILL NOT work.

Ah, I read it now. lool
Sorry to NudeRaider and yungE. Power died out and I couldn't rejoin the game.
--> If you want overused, look at Ophelia or Kraken. o_O

No, I either have a glitch or they ruined the game for me. There is no fog of war, rather there is no area NOT covered by fog of war, so I can't see where I can't see (if that makes sense). Gameplay is identical--it's not like maphack--It just looks like everything is fogged over and nobody gives vision, when they clearly do. I might have to upload a screenshot.

I think I ran into that glitch on Tuesday, but the latest patch hadn't launched yet. It happened in the middle of the game, and everywhere that was supposed to be visible still looked like it had fog of war over it. However, units and such were still visible. The areas on my minimap that were truly fogged over glowed. Is that what happened to you? I solved it by just restarting my client.

That bug has happened to me several times. I've heard inputting cg_fogofdarkness 1 into the console fixes it, but I have yet to try it.
None.
Don't use 1, use something like 0.8.
Cool. The client crashes when it trys to update itself. Is the download on the website the latest version?
