I dunno if anyone else on SeN watches track... But I do. Rather religiously. If any of you haven't seen the following, watch em.

So far this has happened:

Men's Long Jump Prelims: Dwigth Phillips jumps 8.74, the farthest in 18 years, and the 5th longest jump of all time.

Usain Bolt becomes the first man to hold 2 simultaneous triple crowns (WR, Olympic Champion, World Champion) in the 100 and 200, while breaking the WR in both. Again. And by breaking it, I mean destroying it.

100m WR lowered to 9.58, 0.11 second off previous WR, largest margin since the advent of electronic timing.

200m WR lowered to 19.19, 0.11 seconds off previous WR. He's gonna run faster.

Bolt is only going to get faster also, that's the amazing thing.

He's 22 and athletes tend to hit their peak around 29-30.

Yeah. I would say around 27-28 is a peaking point. I'm sure he'll get better, though I would tend to say he'll peak closer to the 2012 olympics rather than the 2016 olympics. The other thing is, he hasn't even been training the same way for these world championships this year like he did before Beijing. He's had a car accident and a few other things that haven't allowed him to train the same. Guy is ridiculous.

And I still want to see him take on the 400 m one day. I think he could break Michael Johnson's other record and show that 400 m might be his best event of them all. (i've heard people say it was before). First thing's first though, ow low do you think he'll get the WR's in the 100 m and 200 m before his career is over? Think he'll break 9.5, or even 9.4? Think he'll break 19 seconds?

Not too sure about that kinda stuff, I hope he does, would be sweet. He is some sort of running machine though, the 200m video really exemplifies his speed. So sick.

He can run 45 in the 400 fairly easily, so I am sure he'd be able to break it. He said he's going to try in 2010 because it's the "off year"

I think before he's gone, we'll see a 9.47 100, an 18.96 200, and a 41.39 400.

Thanks for the info on doing the 400 in 2010. I look forward to it. That's pretty intense that you think he'll break the 400 m record by 2 seconds. I think your educated guesses on how fast he'll go seem pretty reasonable though.
